broke: one of the covey is katniss' ancestor
woke: one of the covey is haymitch's ancestor
I think indeed dot com should have a comment section
"no salary listed hmmm....... đ¤đ¤đ¤"
"BACHELORS DEGREE TO WORK RETAIL PLEASE SAY SIKE"
"'fast-paced high-energy environment' just say it's toxic"
Blitz: I wrote Stolas a note telling him how I feel. Fizz: Thatâs progress! Blitz: I tore it up and flushed it. Fizz: ⌠Itâs still progress!
being told "I love you" is okay, but Peeta said:
My nightmares are usually about losing you. I'm okay once I realize you're here.

Fellas don't you hate it when your ex's granddaughter topples down the empire that you built in 60 years of hard work?
Went and saw Hunger Games tonight. It's the first time I've seen it in theaters since 2012. Here's the main difference I noticed between watching in 2012 vs 2023.
2012- When the cameras cut to Gale while Katniss and Peeta were in the cave, people went "aw!" out of pity for Gale.
2023- When the cameras cut to Gale while Katniss and Peeta were in the cave, people were laughing at him.

ik the 75th hunger games all stars rule is terrible for katniss and peeta but can you imagine the absolute euphoria of everyone else in the districts. me my heavily tesseraed eighteen year old son and my twelve year old who was dreading her first reaping getting ready to enjoy the games for the first time ever

"Then he reads the list of past District 12 victors. In seventy-four years, we have had exactly two. Only one is still alive." â Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games
Sometimes I think about how some writers try to do what Suzanne Collins did with Peeta but all fail miserably. I mean, they try to write a male love interest that's "not like other boys," but only end up with a generic boy character who doesn't even have a personality?
I think what made Peeta so special might be Suzanne's own adoration for him. She just wrote a character she absolutely adored without thinking about the tropes or stereotypes. That's how she ended up with a uniquely likable character who also can't be put in any existing box. He's not the mysterious hot guy, not the timid boy next door, or the cocky popular boy in school. He's all of those things at once, yet none of them fully.
And I adore her enthusiasm when it comes to Peeta, like defending Josh's casting so passionately and humorously (I'd still cast Josh even if he had 6-feet wings and is bright purple.)
A lot of people bring up the term "male character written by a female writer" when describing Peeta. That's really the charm of his character. He's the ideal type a lot of straight women dream of.
Peetaâs Confession
Ughhhhhh Peeta GOT IT and saw through EVERYTHING. The first step to breaking tyranny is understanding exactly how they control you, and Peeta did it so naturally.
He didnât want the games to âchange him.â He recognized that Snow relies upon turning humanityâs âmost innocentâ into murders to prove that humans are all terrible (what Dr. Gaul argues about people being inherently vicious), and absolutely OBLITERATES this idea.
Peetaâs character says âhumans cannot be inherently, unquestionably evil because I am goodâ and it drives me absolutely FERAL.
Sure, not everyone everywhere can afford to keep their hands clean, and even Peeta knows he might have to kill people. But the whole point of killing Coin at the end is that evil beating evil isnât worth anything. If all you do is get a new tyrant, then youâve changed nothing. In order to really win, GOOD has to replace evil. In order to have good, you have to have good people, and Peeta is good. Peeta is important to keeping Katniss not only physically on the rebelâs side, but also morally on their side as she battles everything inside of her.
the way peeta arguably caused the most trouble for president snow because he made the CAPITOL view the games differently during his interviews two years in a row
katniss caused the uprising in the districts but the capitol was definitely willing to change their minds because their favorite victors were being hurt

peeta's unused lines from the books (#1) for @panemgif
Idk if this is just me, but does it seem like the Hunger Games movies left out most of the stuff about food in general?
Maybe I just noticed this because in my first read I was worried that all of them were cannibals, but like⌠in the movies it seems like they were never actually that hungry. Like, we know that Katniss and Gale have to hunt, and that Peeta gave Katniss the bread, but a lot of the details about just how hungry they were to get to those choices were just⌠gone. And when theyâre in the Capitol on the Victory Tour, they mention the vomit-inducer but it was more of an offhand thing. What got me especially though is that in Mockingjay Pt. 2, their time with Tigris appears to be much shorter, but also⌠she doesnât feed them! And from what I remember that was fairly significant in the books, especially considering the position they were in.
In the books, hunger was the driving force of the vast majority of decisions they made. Katniss literally spent a good chunk of her first games desperately searching for waterâHaymitch rewarded their performances with foodâKatniss described every single thing she eats and primarily characterizes new places based on their food (the Capitol and District 13 especially). TBOSAS supports this even further when you see how even people in the Capitol were starving in the aftermath of the warâthatâs why sponsors were added to the game!
I justâthe whole series is literally about starvation and what it means to be human, but the movies just focused on love and war.
