I know to some is debatable, but Griffith was 100% in love with Guts.
Griffith is extremely messed up as a person and would never admit to such feeling, yet he clearly loved Guts
Did he had the capacity to acknowledge these feelings in any healthy way whatsoever is something else entirely
I mean I don’t think the plot makes sense if Griffith isn’t consumingly and deleteriously in love with Guts. I also don’t think that he can’t really recognize this. He’s famously matter of fact about being ready to die for him!
He’s also the one trying to have a more personal relationship with Guts during the Golden Age arc, where Guts isn’t really equipped to deal with that
I don’t even think his feelings are really a problem for him until they start to conflict with his ambitions
