I swear this is something that bothers me so much. Butch has been around for decades and applies to white masc sapphics. Just use butch. If you don't like that, say masc. It's important to remember that sometimes you're not the intended audience and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Words are important and have a cultural context which shouldn't be ignored because it's more convenient for you to disrespect a marginalized community than it is to work on yourself.

Honestly, as an aro who experiences intense platonic love, I’ll always credit loveless aros for helping me come to terms with my aromanticism. Believing being aro was ok because I loved my friends was internalised arophobia on my part and I’m beyond grateful to loveless aros for showing me that my aromanticism is not something that needs other forms of love to make up for it.
