Day 82/100
First day of second semester, there are many changes but many things are the same too.
There are a few new things I am trying out this semester, like using separate papers for notes, but idk let's see how it goes,
One of my purchases was colour pens (stick pens) and some other stuff, but honestly there were pretty reasonable priced options for stationary and I was surprised, maybe I will make a post for intresting stationary in India.
Till now law of torts seems the most intriguing.
Take Care guys!

January set upâ¨
âI think Mirabel is bisexual because her dress has the bi pride flag in the detailsâ
NO. It is a traditional dress from my country, specifically from Velez, town in the state of Santander and their costumes usually are that way (colorful with lots of patterns which are very meaningful for the community)
As you can see, you can assume the girls have swen in their dresses a lot of patterns. One even looks like the lgtbi pride flag. But is something normal to mix a lot of patterns, doesnât mean they represent the community. Also, Velez dresses tend to tell a story in their engravings (thatâs why they are so hard to do and prestigious). And considering Mirabel first song and function in the movie is to talk about the story of the Madrigals, her dress represents her family history.
Please respect my culture. You can have your headcanons because itâs fun! Just, respect our traditions like Mirabelâs outfit palette and inspiration.

Encanto's colombian references
I haven't been able to stop thinking about this movie since I saw it, so I decided to do a list of colombian references that I loved being half colombian.
The coffee kid: in Colombia kids are given black coffee since they are like 5 years old, so I thought this detail was really fun to include (Btw, black coffee there is actually called tinto)
Common phrases/words: I saw the movie in spanish so I don't really know which off these appear in every version, but I loved that they included the phrase "qui hubo" bc it's such a common greeting there that not many know about. Also, It was really exciting to hear "bacano", "parcero", "de una" in a Disney movie đđť
Food: I can't express how much my mouth watered watching the film. The buĂąuelos. Ajiaco. Arroz atollado. Empanadas. And the arepas made me sooo hungry, and made me miss Colombia even more. (If you have never tried any of these, you're missing out on excelent culinary đ)
The sombrero vueltiao: aaah the little kid wearing it was so adorable. This hat is really traditional and representative (idk if that's how you say it), so I was kinda pissed off that none of the Madrigals' wore one. But least half of the background characters had one to make up for it.
Pointing with the mouth: and finally my personal favorite... Mirabel POINTING WITH HER MOUTH when she gives Antonio his present đđťđđť This is such a weird, funny and unic trait that colombians have. My dad and me make fun of this sometimes so it was cool to see other people picked up on it, bc it's something easily unnoticeable.
Anyway, go watch this movie, the message is really nice, the music is catchy and the representation is 10/10

Earthlight
âEarthlight is the partial illumination of the dark portion of the moon's surface by light reflected from the Earth and from the Earthâs airglow. It is also known as Earthshine [or] Planetshine, the Moonâs ashen glow, or the old Moon in the new Moonâs arms.â [x]

They're loversâ¤
Passed my Slavistics final exam! Here are my notes.
january eighth: good lighting makes bar studying and thesis writing much better (not pictured: homemade chai latte and butternut squash chai snickerdoodles)
Just have to read ~400 pages in two days and attend full school days. Nothing new. What is new is my instagram!
a phrase i really wish had an equally simple equivalent in other languages as it does in finnish:Â âvoimiaâ
directly translated it means âstrengthsâ, it could even be translated as âgood strengthsâ to go with how people in english wish well to one another, but it very importantly does not have the word âgoodâ in it, nor does it have the connotations of strength.
itâs more like wishing that the other person will have a little bit of extra energy or a couple of more spoons to deal with whatever theyâve just shared with youâa death of a loved one, a particularly exhausting training week, or just a very mentally draining social interaction they have aheadâand then all the things that will require more spoons because of it.
while it has a positive, uplifting tone to it, it holds no presumption that itâll go well, or that itâs going to be fine: itâs just an acknowledgement that what you just shared is going to be tough, and that i wish you the spoons to deal with it. all condensed in a single word, perhaps followed by a couple of loving or encouraging emojis
iâve become so aware of how i want to be able to say this to people (especially to my disabled and/or neurodiv friends) on a regular basis, especially over the past year, so iâm sharing this in the hopes that people will either find and inform me of an equivalent or adopt this to common use so i can say it to non-finnish friends
voimia! đđ

âEat wild food. Whether its rose hips, or a cracked black walnut, or an apple from a feral tree. Get a bit of autumnâs wildness within you. In the presence of wildness death becomes just another beautiful variant of living itself. Allow the wildness of autumn to teach you how to die.â
