            𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐄  𝐈𝐓  𝐖𝐀𝐒  𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐘  𝐅𝐎𝐑  𝐌𝐀𝐗𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋  𝐓𝐎  𝐆𝐄𝐓  𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐎  𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐘  𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐓  ,  𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄  𝐖𝐀𝐒  𝐀𝐍  𝐈𝐍𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓  𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐑  𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐍  .  to  his  paranoid  mind  ,  it  seemed  a  welcoming  gate  for  all  the  creatures  which  resided  in  hell  ,  or  other  creepy  crawly  places  ,  to  come  up  &  terrify  him  specifically  .  but  he  was  also  not  an  idiot  &  would  never  turn  down  the  possibility  to  party  or  chow  down  on  festival  food  .  thus  ,  he  ended  up  outside  of  his  apartment  ,  when  generally  he  wouldn’t  come  out  for  anything  but  work  .  his  eyes  stayed  averted  from  the  giant  screen  ,  taunting  him  with  his  worst  FEAR  (  the  idea  that  horror  movies  would  bring  about  ghosts  or  serial  killers  to  his  very  own  home  )  ,  to  stay  safe  .  but  he  was  surprisingly  having  fun  ,  being  the  social  person  he  was  .  &  even  more  fun  was  the  fact  that  there  was  a  petting  zoo  !  this  meant  more  free  pets  for  him  to  take  home  !  that  was  how  he  ended  up  skillfully  snagging  one  of  the  baby  goats  inside  ,  currently  wrapped  up  in  his  arms  &  THRASHING  about  in  an  attempt  to  escape  ,  giving  the  person  nagging  him  an  offended  scowl  .  ❝  what  do  you  mean  i  can’t  have  him  ?  he  doesn’t  have  tags  ,  duh  !  that  means  i  can  have  him  .  i’ve  named  him  trashboy  .  isn’t  he  cute  ?  ❞

Skylar was rushing out of the library, coffee cup in hand that she still hadn’t thrown away yet (truthfully, she kind of enjoyed carrying them around – it made her feel… professional, or something). She hadn’t realized the time and was supposed to make it home in the next 15 minutes. Shit. The girl struggles with getting her bag over her shoulder, brown hair flying around her head from her lack of coordination, plus the slight breeze that was blowing around thanks to the soon-coming winter season. Finally, she got herself situated – but only after taking a pause from walking and dealing with one thing at a time – and huffed out some air. She then breathed in through her nose – closing her eyes to further calm herself down – and began walking again, though her pace slowed as she noticed just how many decorations there were around. It was always a surprise every year just how much this town put into getting festive for the holidays. The girl’s eyes wandered around at the streamers above her head, and it was then that someone spoke to her. Skylar looked where the noise was coming from, then realizing it was her professor. “Uh, I’m not sure.” Personally, she didn’t really believe in ghosts or aliens (not entirely), but, to Skylar, the decor was fun. Did she dare say that to Taemin? “It’s mostly just silly little decorations though, I think. I don’t know how many people actually believe… you know?” She tries to come off casual, raising an eyebrow to hope that he understood what she meant. “But if you really don’t like it, it’ll probably be down soon… though winter stuff will probably come up next…” Skylar trails off; she had attempted to try and appease Taemin – she knew how tough he could be in class – but clearly, and she knew this for herself, she wasn’t very good with words. “Sorry,” she breathily laughs, tucking hair behind her ear and looking away at the decor again, feeling awkward. “I guess we’ve just got to put up with it while we can.”

            truly taemin wasn't expecting anyone to answer him ; a few curses under breath , that he tended to ignore as he stood in the same place , but not an actual sentence . his eyes shift towards the SOURCE of the sound , his eyes squinting lightly —— it was moments like this he wishes not to be as stubborn and simply put his lenses or glasses on . yet , the form wasn't totally unfamiliar and he soon was placing the voice , maybe to his classes ? his eyes tended to go back to the horrible color the tent displayed , arms lightly crossed as he kept his drink at a close distance " ——so they're paying fifty dollars to have fun ? that's ... a weird way to spend money and that comes from me , someone who never really struggled. “ it was a blunt lie but the other didn’t need to know that ; taking another sip from his drink , he considers what she just told him . not that taemin hated halloween  — it was one of his favorite holidays , even more than christmas  — but the family environment and this thing of scamming people for money was putting him off “  —i don’t really like the winter holidays either. “ he muses , before his eyes fall on her again , a soft smile adorning his lips at her confession “ —i wouldn’t worry . short talk isn’t really my thing either ... you know , i seriously don’t care. “ his shoulders shrug under his leather jacket , trying to shake it off “ — watch me drink myself to sleep until next year. “

             ◟*  face   hidden   behind   the   brim   of   a   blank   ,   baseball   camp   –   lit   cigarette   between   his   fingers   –   though   he   tries   to   look   inconspicuous   ,   he’s   in   his   telltale   “out   of   the   garage”   garments.   black   jacket   ,   black   jeans   ,   cigarette   –   ask   anyone   ,   they   might   say   he’s   walked   right   out   of   a   badly   written   wattpad   novel.   he   brings   the   cigarette   to   his   lips   ,   stopping   next   to   the   professor   ,   eyes   focused   on   the   tent   in   front   of   them.   palm   reading   ,   psychics   ,   the   whole   she-bang.   he   remembers   a   scam   of   the   similar   vein   back   home   in   chicago   ,   how   much   his   first   girlfriend   spent   on   some   bitch   telling   that   yes   ,   she   will   have   kids   and   she   will   get   married.   DUH.   ‘   desperation,   ’   his   voice   is   raspy   ,   raising   his   head   and   baring   an   ugly   black   eye.   ‘   a   need   for   validation   that   they’ve   got   a   future   ,   you   know   –-   aren’t   you   supposed   to   be   a   smart   dude   ?   ’
