Mind of a HER

As a Parent we have a lot of things for us and against us. We are challenged with learning the type of people we are raising. Especially, if you’re not really a people person and you limit yourself to interactions with others. Our society will challenge our parenting skills, try to criticize you and get under your skin. But, it’s up to us to learn how to overcome that nonsense. We can only do so much to raise our children in an imperfect world. We can teach our children what we know and were taught as well as learn new ways to help them become a better version of themselves. We as parents are set with one major goal when we find out we are about to be a father or mother. That one goal is set on our hearts so daringly and strongly. Filled with ambitious and passion that never goes away regardless of what we are dealing with. What is that goal you ask? To raise a good hearted world changing person who will have an amazing life. To make sure that we raise people who will overcome all the challenges that crosses their paths. The goal of teaching our children in every possible way to keep them safe in a world full of craziness and uncertainty. At some point in life we have to trust that we have done right by our young. We have to understand that our children will want to stop holding our hands and take on the world alone. As a parent you will have to learn to watch them fall and allow them to get back up on their own. Like I said, "we have challenges". Sometimes as a parent even our children are against us but that is because they don’t understand we are teaching them based off of our life experiences. A friend of mine recently expressed his input on the way of the world in which I agree... “Personally, I believe that we need to step back from the traditional standards of parenting and begin to reform the way we teach our children and also the facts and lessons themselves. Times have changed. We must change also.” I feel it is okay to evolve with time and show our children something different that may work for them but didn’t work for you or you didn’t have access to while growing up. Our world is chaotic and mysterious. We never truly know what tomorrow will bring but what we do know is what we can work on today.
