We are officially 3D! That’s right. Instead of a 2D side-scroller we now have official 3D rooms and modeling with our new Godot engine! We hope you enjoy our new progress.

IT’S AN UPDATE!

So... we are officially switching our engine to Godot.

While Mindless Sea didn’t exactly look like your average RPGmaker game we understand if there’s any disappointment among our fellow RPGmaker fans about the switch. Thank you if you still want to stick with us! We look forward to posting more from our new interface.

If you’re wondering why we switched we wanted to have a decent amount of flexibility and cross-compatibility that we weren’t quite getting from good ol’ RPGmaker. So in turn more people will have the ability to play and we will hopefully be programming at a faster rate. We are looking out for you guys! Honest!

Plus now you can experience Mindless Sea in 1080p!

What is Mindless Sea?

Mindless Sea is a RPG Maker VXA (Yes, you heard that right) powered thriller game that’s currently in development.

2028. An alternate past leads to an alternate future.

Our story takes place in an underwater research facility deep underneath the Arctic Ocean, code-named RAN.

Adam is an up and coming research scientist and has to get used to his new underwater environment. With help from his leading research supervisor Elise and the rest of the crew, along with two friendly helper robots he begins to ease into his routine.

But as he adapts to life at RAN, his presence harbors unfortunate happenings to the crew.

Will Adam be able to stop the incidents from happening?

Or will he be swallowed by the Arctic Ocean?

His and everyone’s fate is in your hands.

The Mindless Sea awaits.

It’s gameplay incorporates the point and click elements of classics such as Snatcher and the sidescrolling elements of RPG Maker games such as Dreaming Mary!

Also, there’s voice acting! Woah.

This Mindless Monday… Has… The… Surprise!!! Wait did you see the video yet? Well, go watch it.  I can wait. . . . Are we good? Because I don’t think I can wait.. Okay! My dear audience the surprise is Alpha and I have hired a FULL CAST of voice actors for the ENTIRE game. Every actor we’ve been working with has been fantastic and giving us great comments and feedback. So if and when this games goes retail we are going to give these lovely people their dues! We will reveal the actors as we edit them into the script and game. Hopefully each week or at least every other week (fingers crossed)

We’ve been very busy with our university exams. Sorry about the wait!

It’s about time we posted another update! As you can probably tell, we’ve both been very busy with our lives as of late and haven’t been able to work on the game and blog as much as we want to. We’re sorry for that and promise we’ll be back on our feet soon.

Now, the positive stuff - We’ve been re-working our script and game engine in preparations for the demo.

New additions include:

• A nearly complete title screen!

• Fullscreen mode!

• A credits page!

• Facial expressions for the protagonist. Holy mackarel, this changes everything!
