Making my first post here to yap about my theory on the existence of monster clark in the backrooms mobie! It's maybe been thought of by someone else aswell, idk i never checked these are just my thoughts!! My idea of why exactly monster clark exists the way he does is because he's the memory of children that were scared by clark from the ad.

It's a recording with bad video and sound quality, making everything feel more gritty, plus he's talking very harshly because he's supposed to do a pirate impression. There's lots of instances of people remembering being scared by similar ads irl as kids back in the day.

The entities that do exist are said that they're being "remembered", they're very neutral because they are being remembered as neutral, maybe by someone seeing them walk around outside or something. Dr. Mary is even more reserved in her backrooms variant because she is being remembered from the interrogation room where she was very reserved and held back, very muted in personality. However monster clark is hostile because he is being remembered as a threat.

Monster clark is LITERALLY wearing the outfit clark only ever wore in the advertisement. He's actively being remembered FROM the ad, or someone seeing the ad. I've seen people say monster clark is a reflection of his psyche and inner turmoil, but this makes no sense, it doesnt explain the Pirate outfit nor the part of the entities being "remembered"

Weakpoint in the theory:

We only ever see the ad being filmed initially, not aired, and it was a cut take where the chair breaks -- however, there might be a not unsignificant ammount of time between then and when we first meet monster clark. He has multiple Therapy visits, which dont usually happen daily, spends nights. He's spent days checking out the backrooms when he initially finds them, and when he gets the camera guy he mentions that he got it from his school some time ago and they could go borrow it again. So it's not far fetched to say enough time passed for the ad to air somewhere and for monster clark to manifest.
