Life as a Millsaps DDD

Meriweather is a senior Anthropology major, with a focus in cultural anthropology and a minor in business. This summer, she went with Dr. Murchison to Tanzania where she did a homestay and learned about the everyday life of the people there. She says her favorite part of the trip was "...just forming a relationship with my family and getting to be completely immersed in their way of life." After graduation, she hopes to get some work experience, potentially in a non-profit, before heading on to grad school.

In our chapter, Meriweather serves as our Vice President of Membership, so we have her to thank for our awesome Recruitment Workshop last week!! Working as VPM, Meriweather says she has been amazed by her sisters' willingness and enthusiasm in stepping up to help get tasks completed. It has also been a rewarding experience personally, as knowing she has her sisters' confidence every step of the way has allowed her to step out of her comfort zone and do things she may not have been able to do without it.  

Again, thank you for an amazing workshop last week, Meriweather! It was great to be able to catch up with our sisters, and you did a fantastic job getting us prepared for recruitment! Delta Love.

McKinzie is a junior and is double-majoring in Psychology and Education. As a member of Wellspring for the past two years, she has volunteered at the Mississippi Children's Home Services, Brown Elementary, and CARA, where she worked with the children on building up their reading skills. These experiences have guided her to a passion for literacy and for teaching special needs children. In our chapter, McKinzie serves as our Philanthropy chair, a position she is very passionate about. She loves everything St. Jude stands for, and loves having the chance to support an amazing organization! Thanks, McKinzie, for all of your hard work and for keeping all of us motivated to serve not only St. Jude, but to help out in the Jackson community as well.  Delta Love.
