I take the allegations of sexual abuse by Neil Gaiman seriously. I stand with his accusers. It breaks my heart what happened to them and how they suffered. I do wish a media outlet other than one with an obvious agenda against the trans community had been the one to break the story. I wonder if that's why you don't see much else reported despite how gobsmacked social media has been about it.

I don't know. My journalism training compels me to state that yes these are allegations -- so ok done -- but also fuck that guy completely. Neil Gaiman and the entire apparatus protecting him -- lawyers, accountants, agents, whatever -- have enabled him to use his considerable power to hurt people and get away with it. When you make someone you've had sex with sign an NDA -- you've become the villain in the story.

This latest report today is just gross, and it really hit me hard as a fan. The guy used his wealth and status to manipulate women into having sex with him. Who helped him attain this power? Fans, to a degree. People who bought his shit. Fuck that.

I guess you could separate the art from the artist and still love Good Omens. I guess. I guess there were also always some elements to his writing that I chalked up to Vertigo British dudes being edgy -- but now holy shit. I could never read something like Calliope again. What a creep.

Fuck the whole thing. Fuck his silence while he prepares a statement, organizes his lawyers, whatever.
