People call some Jews “white” not just because of skin color, but because of how some Jews in the West have become part of white culture and power systems. White is not only about race, it’s also about behavior, privilege, and how society treats you.

For example, Ashkenazi Jews (Jews from Europe) who live in the US or Europe sometimes have the same power, safety, and opportunities that white people have. They can walk in the street, go to school or work, and not worry about racism the same way people of color do. That’s why some people call them white.

Also, in Palestine, the Israeli state uses force, military power, and control over people of color, mostly Arabs, which looks a lot like white settler behavior. The police, the army, the checkpoints, the arrests of children — all of that shows a system of control that people associate with whiteness and colonialism.

This doesn’t mean that all Jews are white. Many Jews are Mizrahi, Ethiopian, or from other backgrounds, and they don’t benefit from white privilege. But when people talk about “white Jews,” they often mean Ashkenazi Jews in powerful countries or in powerful roles in Israel.

Jews don't have privilege anywhere but Israel, buddy. And even that's debatable, given they live under constant threat of death to the point every neighbor has air raid sirens and every house has a bomb shelter.

The fact a Jew can't even talk about their experiences with antisemitism without being accused of being a Zionist or having someone try to insist the conversation be steered towards Palestinians, even when neither were mentioned, and can't even march for the Hostages without risking being set on fire or shot, makes this insistence that Jews have any form of "privilege" outside of Israel, let alone "white privilege" ring pretty fucking hollow.

but when we talk about israel now we’re not saying jews “must be white.” we’re saying a state built on colonization, military domination, and apartheid acts like every other white supremacist settler project in history. and if the people running that state are mostly white-passing, western-backed, and shielded by imperial power, then yeah people are gonna call that whiteness.

it’s not nazi rhetoric to say a military occupation is violent. it’s not antisemitism to say colonizers have power. stop trying to twist every criticism of a state into a threat against all jewish people. palestinians aren’t repeating nazi lies we’re being bombed by the people using them as shields.

Male-apologists always say that rather than excluding men, feminism is a movement that is supposed to uplift women AND men (🤮) and that the patriarchy hurts men too.

So if feminism is also about liberating men from the system THEY created and uphold, then where are all the male feminists? Why do men actively try to discourage women from exploring feminism? Why aren't they saying, "Yes, we stand with you in your efforts to dismantle the patriarchy because it hurts all of us?"

Well...those of us who AREN'T simping for the oppressor class already know the answer.
