it's not often selin encounters someone with the same distaste of being forced into social settings , especially within the nouveaux riches , so when it happens she's naturally a little curious . " don't forget prying , " the femme comments back with a risen brow , making eye contact with the man before she offers a small smile of agreement . " i think i have to agree , " selin nods , glancing away into the overlooking garden . " it's calming , "

               the  comment  causes  a  chuckle,  elena’s  legs  crossed  over  one  another  as  they  recently  sat  down,  awaiting  for  company  to  eventually  find  its  way  to  her.  “  as  long  as  you’re  close  to  someone  attractive,  the  temp  doesn’t  feel  unworthy.  ”  she  teases  with  a  shrug,  head  lolling  back  for  a  few  moments  to  bask  in  the  cool  breeze  before  returning  their  gaze  back  to  selin.  “  saw  your  little  —  whatever  he  is  in  there,  looking  miserable  as  always.  tell  me  you’re  having  a  good  time  at  least.  ”

while there's always a new rumor of world's ranked1st tennis player dating another man each month , truth is much further than that . in fact , ever since separated from her husband , selin's been focusing exclusively ( & solely ) on her career , despite the talks around town . elena however , is one of the people in her life that present themself as a little devil on her shoulder , urging her to relax & unwind . so she gives the woman a look sitting beside , a small smile draping across her lips until elena mentions someone .... she isn't exactly sure . " i don't know what you mean ... " she's genuinely puzzled , mainly because she's got no one in her life since the separation .

despite being more than accustomed to these kind of events over the years , after all , she does come from a successful family , selin never liked socializing more than absolutely necessary . she prefers being silent , observing of her surroundings ( and others ) but alas , she always manages to find herself in the god damn center of talk . tonight ? her estranged husband's been the number1 question on everyone's tongue & she's tired of making up excuses . chocolate hues move down to the glass of wine that comes from an angel ( surely allah heard her prayers ) & she sighs in relief . " is it that obvious ? " she asks , but already knows the answer as she takes it . " thank you , "

evan had managed to slip through to the back, escaping a conversation with his manager he dreaded. there was a reason his excuse for tagging along was so vague but now, evan knew his intentions were to turn anything into a business meeting. he let out a sigh, toying with the cigarette between his fingers when suddenly he felt a breeze rush past his cheeks. at the gentle shake of the bench, he cranked his neck to take a good look at his company. "no, i'm sure you won't be saying that in a few minutes when it feels like you've just plunged yourself in an ice tub."

despite her rather revealing assemble , the woman doesn't feel cold but believes she soon will be just like the man sitting beside her warns . she doesn't know who he is , but alas , she doesn't know more than half of the people attending : not because they aren't known , but because she simply doesn't follow up on who's who ( something her pr manager definitely doesn't approve ) . " hopefully by that time i'll be on my way to find my driver , " selin responds with a small smile , having had enough socializing for one night . despite coming from influential parents & these kind of events rooted deep within her since the beginning , she's never been a big fan . " besides , how come you're nit an ice tub already ? "

               he  could  practically  sense  her  before  she’s  close,  having  an  energy  that  radiates  towards  him  and  pulls  him  in.  hands  resist  the  urge  to  shove  themselves  into  his  pockets,  keeping  a  calm  demeanor  despite  the  last  time  they  spoke  —  his  disaster  of  a  failed  wedding.  “  absolutely,  it  was  a  goal  of  mine,  and  i’ll  have  you  know,  you  just  ruined  it  and  now  i  must  go  wallow  in  self  pity  for  about  four  days.  ”  he  teases  back  with  a  slight  tug  of  his  lips.  “  working,  staying  busy,  rehab.  you  know,  usual  kavas  shit.  ”

given their last encounter , the scandalous failure of a wedding that was supposed to take place , selin feels just a little uneasy . despite her own marriage in shambles , the femme feels bad about the way his ended before it even began . sure , part of her ( somewhere deep down ) is perhaps a little relieved considering she never liked his fiance but alas , first & foremost , as his best friend , she rooted for him to find happiness . a smile spreads further onto her features as he decides to tease her back , relieving some of the tension in the air . " just four days ? i would've thought at least five , " selin comments , the word rehab almost automatically making her eyes move behind her head . " good , so i've missed nothing ... other than you dressed like louis xvi , " it's then that her chocolate hues scan him down , " only thing you're missing is the wig , "

" five hundred she throws the drink in less than that , " the femme jokes , a lighthearted chuckle escaping her as she watches over the crowd . these kinds of events always serve as the perfect excuse for not only scandals and gossip , but a way to have fun . " told you , " with a proud nod , alana watched as the woman throws her drink before returning her gaze to the male beside . " what do you think he said to her to react so quick ? "

“       you know, if   you   have   one   single   ounce   of   self   preservation,   you   probably   should   say   no   to   this.      ” asena   calls   over   her   shoulder   quietly,      eyes   pealed   for   any   security   guards.      “       it   could   get   us   in   more   than   a   small   amount   of   trouble.      ”

" you're a real troublemaker , aren't you ? " the femme asks , despite the smile lingering on her lips . selin's amused , but then again she always holds a bit of a soft spot for each member of the kavas . " well , what's one more drama in my life right now ? " a shrug drops from her shoulders as she tries to joke about it .

" honestly — i never thought id be back here. " words are muffled through layers of velveteen scarf, but all the same are doused in remorse. " i've been avoiding it for years. it's still beautiful just the same though... i guess. "

" paris or the versailles ? " the tennis player quizzes , curious eyes still wandering around the street she probably wouldn't even find if it weren't for the company she's now in . " i always enjoyed paris , there's just something about the atmosphere here that you can't get elsewhere , "
