His voice. Sexy as FUCK. He's a weird little freak. He's a cocky prick. There's this thing that Jon can do where he compels someone to answer a question, and Elias says that it's nice and tingly and. well. his response is what is described as a "pleasured exhale." He's compelled to answer something that he doesn't necessarily want to and that's like. sexual for him I guess? His voice actor has said, "I'm just very intimate with Beholding." In character. I know bringing up this one specific quote again is redundant but it CANNOT be understated how much that one time Daisy called Elias a "weird little freak" she was hitting the nail on the head. He's fucked up and evil. He's freaky. I love it.

She has, as of season 4, figured out All of the Universe(s) (yes all of it she knows how it works she is the biggest brain ever), and is well on her way to figuring out All of the Existence.

Found The Diner, so a time-travelling dimension-spanning vessel that is notoriously impossible to find, through the power of Math and her GIGANTIC BRAIN. SHE IS SO SMART. SHE'S A SMART MEAN LADY WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT

Mean in the funniest, coolest, sexiest way possible. She will cut you to pieces and leave you to metaphorically bleed out on the sidewalk if you try her.

"The more you disconnect me from my physical body, the more powerful I become." Is an actual thing she said. And she is right.

📻 Yeah, yeah, whatever, blah blah blah, @midnightburgr made me cry. Big shocker. But for real though, in this episode, I find myself so proud of Leif. It's such a smart storyline to have a dozen versions of the character whose potential is literally enough to move an empire toward One Guy. Leif could have been anything, and we see that over and over again. And our Leif, the Leif who belongs at Midnight Burger, chose to do the right thing, and to give as many people the ability to do the same and he could. “If we truly work together, then we’ll finally be free. All of us.” I hope that's true for you, Leif.

🗡️ Can we talk about The Bardic Hearth? Can we TALK about the BARDIC HEARTH? This episode really makes a meal out of the divine politics that are pretty much my favorite part about this show. (Hiiiii Cat Blackard as the goddess of love hiiiiiii.) And then it gives my new favorite character dynamic--arcane grad student and living weapon. And they're best friends now. That might be an exaggeration, but the developing friendship between Ari and Tabetha is absolutely delightful. I hope their weird road trip to the Feywild is fun. It'll certainly be interesting.

🥀 I haven't talked about Wake of Corrosion yet, but I really like @wakeofcorrosion. I just finished season one, so I'm far off from discovering the mystery of it all now, but I have to commend them for such an interesting apocalypse. The time warping, sudden and without warning (or maybe not without warning, if you know what to look for) is a fascinating way to bring about the end of the world. I have a lot of questions--why are the bunkers safe? What's up with the gal at the observatory? Where are Roman's kids? Is it normal to have a bunch of like, county bunkers around in the UK, or is that part of the story? Are the weird figures looping like...time ghosts? I can't wait to find out.

starting easy: verge as The Hunt (bounty on their head, survival above all, vapus vella) and kazi as The Flesh (one body a prison, the other a grave, an outlaw for taking biology into her own hands).

for the main crew i’m going ava as The Eye (must figure out how literally everything works and tell everyone), the mucklewains as The Stranger (a borrowed voicebox! made out of other people, but also ARE those other people), leif as The Dark (the shelliak, paranoid hideout in a basically-sunless wasteland), gloria as The End (blurring endings/beginnings, her worlds keep collapsing), and caspar as The Spiral (sadness so vicious it feels like madness, breaking with reality in service of an impossible goal, assuming you’re hallucinating your only companions).

less confidently here’s the rest of what i’m thinking:

- clementine as The Desolation (she is the fire which consumes her </3)

- teta as The Slaughter (personified battering ram complete with ram’s horns! casual, unflinching brutality)

- libuza as The Web (wired in to be able to see a cosmos of causal relations)

- ex as The Buried? (early ex was Stranger but babygirl was submerged in a riverbed for decades to dig herself out of her programming, she is from the mud <3)

- krok as The Corruption? (lowkey Extinction but he’s also altering the genes of entire galaxy to cure them of entropic decay)

- bert bert as The Vast? (there is so much out there, ends up responsible for trillions of people, o great emergence from dark waters)

- fiona as The Lonely? (taken out of her society only to find out no one—including herself—has any idea who she actually is, surrounded by people living a fundamentally different life*)

🧪 I can't believe I forgot to talk about @theholmwoodfoundation's new bonus episode last week. The sheer...I guess I'm looking for the word brutality, in the way that Elena was treated by the foundation definitely shows it to be a different sort of organization than (I bet) Mina ever meant it to be. But maybe I'm wrong; this is not the first time Holmwood's played with an "alternate history" sort of Dracula interpretation. Can't wait for more.

🦄 Let's hear it for Witchpunk's first season! I really love what @citeogs did with this series. It's hard for a piece of media to capture just how doomed cyberpunk feels for its characters, but Witchpunk frikkin did that, with some of the most excellent political worldbuilding I've seen in a long time. I love this show, I love the characters, I love the story.

⬛️ Like, what do I even say about @midnightburgr? That it made me cry this week? It made me cry this week. I'm really proud of Casper's character development and his newfound sense of fatherhood. Trying no matter what (even if it's hopeless) because it matters is such an important message right now.

💻 I had the pleasure of meeting maybe like, 80% of the @san-lazaro-podcast team at @tafcon, and boy oh boy did those delightful humans make we want to hear their show. And THEN, what do I find but the most compelling opener for a zombie apocalypse story that I have ever heard? The absolute finesse of the three story prologues that currently make up Radio San Lazaro is incredible. If you want a masterclass in writing (and then an excellent example of how to run a volunteer project!), check this show out.

🌔 I'd be remiss if I didn't mention The Harbingers, which wrapped up its first season this week with a bang. I'm not always a fan of the way Gabriel Urbina builds characters, but I can't argue with his storylines. This show slaps. Of course no one's getting away with sending Boston to the moon; that doesn't mean the story’s over.

🍂 I want to get a little more attention on the crowdfund for Fallen Memories! It’s a warm and cozy audio drama that I happen to know has been in the works for ages, and darnit, I want to hear it! Give them your money! Their first episode is up on youtube now!

i think the ragdoll storyline is ripe for projection/headcanons, which don’t need my blessing but y’all have it anyway! if anyone reads her deprogramming/realization/liberation as religious deconstruction, or autism, or transness, or otherwise unpacking cisheteropatriarchy, etc., it is an honor for my character to have a seat at your table!
