I love the clear summer water

Ōrua was recently euthanised. He was the last captive pinniped in New Zealand and his passing marks the end of an era on captive marine mammals in New Zealand officially. It’s a shame but he was a real treat to have over the past 19 years. The part I think is the most depressing is because one of the main reasons he was put to rest is because of his severely outdated enclosure and the zoo just couldn’t cater to him anymore. Rest easy 🦭❤️
