-Tawnypelt/Squirrelflight (the better tigerstar sibling 4 squilf bc theyre just a better person)

-Hollyleaf/Willowshine (not super serious but irs cute how hollyleaf basically saw a pretty lady and was like "yeha im gonna b a medicine cat like her <3 and then they stayed friends u kno)

-Daisy/Ferncloud (2 gay moms!! its the coping with a bad past and finding comfort in eachother but also just being doting mothers together in a sweet way)

-Dovewing/Briarlight (i just think the yre neat <3)

like what abt characters whose faith is shaken - and not just mothwing + cloudtail - bc now theres an acknowledgement for Everyone that there is a heaven but also a hell in their universe which no one besides the df trainees knew existed, and all of the monsters from their youth were still that close to them. characters who have a hard time having faith in starclan now, not in acknowledging they exist, but being pissed that their ancestors allowed the dark forest to get to that magnitude

or characters just straight up leaving the clans and rejecting this way of life. its one thing to battle living cats, but dead cats is kind of A Lot.

and the clans in general!! they literally stay the same and dont learn anything or change. i would love to see the borders become almost non existent, for clans to have closer bonds due to fighting a common enemy. the cats that are left in the clans have shaken faith and cant really fathom fighting over the petty things they did before

or leaders/medicine cats straight up just resigning. like imagine a character like littlecloud retiring because of having to face brokenstar again. or willowshine’s faith in starclan being shaken cus of what she had to see. or thunderclan being left leaderless because of losing firestar and having to confront tigerstar again, and not being sure if they want to continue the nine lives tradition. 

Like each clan should have certain rituals and phrases 

Each clan should have different celebrations from one another

Each clan should just feel unique from one another and there should be some sort of cultural divide between them, like what is considered a complement in one clan is an insult in another

Shadowclan

-They only hunt and train at night

-During the day they sleep and relax

-They have a special position in the clan called ‘Day Watcher’

-A cat who is Day Watcher is like the camp guard but the sit in the tallest tree in the territory and watch for danger during the day while the clan sleeps

-The Day Watcher sleeps during the night when the rest of the clan is awake

- A common phrase is ‘may we pray that the night is long’

-This can be taken literally, but figuratively it means ‘we hope things go well’

-Cats outside Shadowclan would consider asking for a long night to wish bad luck upon someone 

-Shadowclan cats value silence and mainly communicate through different body signals 

-Other cats consider Shadowclan cats as cold and distant over this 

-On a new moon, when the the night is darkest due to no moonlight, they have the apprentices compete in games to see who is the strongest and show off how far they’ve come 

-Shadowclan cats hate snow because their dark pelts are easier to see and that sucks for a clan for values stealth

-When it snows it is seen as a bad omen from Starclan

-When preparing for battle they will crush berries and other dark plants to paint their fur  

Skyclan

-Every apprentices first catch must be a bird, they will wear a feather from that catch for the rest of their apprenticeship and when they become a warrior they remove it and use it to identify their nests in the warriors den 

-Skyclan’s camp is in the trees, high off the ground, they sleep in tree hollows 

-The leader’s den is the highest up in the trees

-If kits want to play, they must be carried to the ground by a warrior and watched the entire time 

-Daylight warriors are still a thing

-Skyclan cats don’t care for patrolling as that would mean going on the ground to mark borders

-Instead they have a specific job for marking borders called ‘Ground Owls’

-Called that cause they are on the ground and like owls, they watch 

-There are only three or five Ground Owls at a time

-Considered a dangerous job due to being on the ground so much

-They report back and tell the leader if the other clans are respecting their borders 

-If a mother gives birth on the ground it is considered bad luck 

-A common phrase is ‘jump to the highest branch, but if you missed the rest will hit you on the way down’

-Means ‘aim high, but if you mess up there will be consequences’

-A popular game in Skyclan is called sun chaser, where cats will jump as high as they can to try and catch the sun

-This game is used to end many arguments

Thunderclan 

-Leaders wear a flower crown made by either their leader/mother/mate/close friend

-Values strength and bravery 

-When a cat becomes a warrior they are given war paint and must patrol the territory alone 

-On the hottest day of the summer they play war games

-The captain of the teams are the deputy and leader

-They go full out, splitting up the territory, wearing war paint, planning strategy weeks in advance 

-They are the only clan to wear paint to the gathering

-Thunderclan cats are actually pretty bad hunters due to intense value of fighting

-For warrior assessments the apprentice challenges their mentor to a duel in the middle of camp and if the apprentice wins he is made a warrior

-If you want to really prove yourself you challenged the best fighter in the clan or your leader

-After a big battle a cat is named something called ‘The Storm Bringer’

-The Storm Bringer is the cat considered to have fought the most bravely in battle

-Their leader will then place a red paw print on the cat’s forehead to let others know of their bravery

-The paw print doesn’t fade cause it has Starclan’s blessing, it only fades after a new Storm Bringer is named 

-Thunderclan’s medicine cats are so tired of their reckless classmates 

Riverclan

-Got those cool floating nests

-Value comfort over all else

-They like to say ‘we are not just surviving, but also living’

-Meaning that because they value comfort, they are enjoying life more than the other clans

-They have dug a moat around their camp 

-When the water freezes it in considered a bad omen from Starclan

-A common phrase is ‘you are a fish in a deep puddle’

-Has lots of meanings based on context, most common meanings being ‘you are overthinking this issue’ or ‘you think you are moving forward but you are actually stuck’

-The longer you can hold your breath the cooler you are

-They will trade with other clans, usually paint, for furs to line their nests 

-They don’t use paint because it’ll just wash off 

-It is custom that the deputy will bring the leader their food each day

-When you become deputy you must have your ceremony in the shallows of the lake and then you and the your leader swim into the lake, go under water, swim around each other twice and then press your foreheads together

-Meant to show the trust between a leader a deputy 

-The relationship between leader and deputy is considered sacred

Windclan

-Two types of warriors, tunnellers and moor runners

-Believe themselves to be the clan closet to Starclan

-Each night before they go to sleep their leader will lead them through a group pray to Starclan

-They have medicine cats but they also have a position solely dedicated to being their spiritual guide 

-The job is sort of like Stoneteller, where they just watch for signs from Starclan, speak to them, etc.

-This job is called ‘Star Seer’ or ‘Seer’ for short

-This job must be appointed to you by a Starclan cat, the current Seer must go to the moonpool and ask who is the next Seer

-The winder the day the better luck Windclan is supposed to have

-If you want to become a warrior, not only do you have to pass your assessment but the Seer must deem you ready

-When you become a moor runner you must run around the entire lake, the faster you are the better

-For tunnellers it’s the same thing but underground

-The lead tunneller is called the ‘The Earth Mover’ and consults with leader and deputy on where new tunnels should go

-They have the tunnel map painted on the back of a rock a camp that is hidden behind so really tall grass

-To be called ‘a rabbit with no tail’ is an insult that means that you are lacking common sense 

-Other cats think usually think that they are calling them ugly 

i’ve literally been the one to point out they’re not actually that far apart in age, i don’t even dislike ivyfern, i’m just saying that as critical readers a lot of people see it as weird, yes there are worse couples when it comes to being related but it’s the fact that at that point in time

but the thing is... canon doesn’t ACKNOWLEDGE some of how those cats are related. Like there’s literally an entire series talking about how ivypool is related to lionblaze, who is very clearly written as Fern’s father. In canon, they know that they are related, and if they don’t that’s just... how?? does ivypool have longterm memory problems? did lionblaze just... not tell his kits abt his family at all??
