a lil piece of sunshine from memphis, tennessee
she had a pretty cookie cutter upbringing ?? her mom was a stay at home mom, her dad worked a predictable 9-5, and she has an older brother who still things she’s 12 no matter how hard she tries to convince him otherwise.
her mom home schooled summer & her brother until they were old enough to go to high school & kept them really involved in their local church to attempt to keep them socialize
summer really embraced the sense of community she had w her church, she joined the choir, led sunday school classes for the nursery as she got older, helped with summer camps. literally everything.
she was very sheltered, though. & bc of that she didn’t really like school when she transitioned into public school.
however, when one of the kids at school visited her church & heard her sing, they invited her to be apart of the school’s choir as well & that was that.
in her free time, she would upload little clips of herself singing on instagram or whatever and she started to develop a bit of a following but nothing too crazy
after graduating high school, her mom started pressuring her to “find a nice christian man” and started talking about marriage and “wifely duties” and honestly that all really freaked her out.
so when summer visited nashville on a weekend getaway, she just so happened to end up on a stage in one of the local bars on the strip that also conveniently had an agent looking for someone exactly like her
the agent liked her sunshine-y personality and overall innocent-like nature, and offered her a contract with their record label as long as she would act as a positive influence towards another one of their clients & give off the impression that the two of them were seeing each other
being completely enamored by the offer & having experience mentoring others within the church, she agreed !!
now she’s been in the industry for about six months & is doing a great job of keeping her image squeaky clean but she’s lowkey D Y I N G to let lose a little bit
