Yosemite Falls is the highest waterfall in Yosemite National Park, dropping a total of 2,425 feet (739 m) from the top of the upper fall to the base of the lower fall. Lower Yosemite Fall: The final 320-foot (98 m) drop adjacent to an accessible viewing area, provides the most-used viewing point for the waterfalls. Yosemite Creek emerges from the base of the Lower Fall and flows into the Merced River nearby. That time I was in Fiji and found myself suddenly thrust into an very serious Kava ceremony, with a couple hundred or so villagers watching from every angle. Wild, amazing, crazy experience... alongside pal Julie Barr who covered the female demographic of our crew. This was the first time these people welcomed a group of westerners into their village... so we were all a little awkward. Overall they were incredibly lovely and genuine people, I honestly would love to go back and get to know them better. They said we are technically family now, and their village is our village... and they really meant it. :) Additionally, many young children from the village had their various cell phones out recording all of this... which was an presented an interesting blend of generations. The ceremony was a bringing of tribes together, and must be performed with anyone new entering their village. Mind you all of this was heavily based on tradition... but I talked to the elders later on in the day, and they say it's the same for anyone entering. Albeit probably on a smaller scale with less fanfare.
