I forgot how intense promo cycles are. Maybe it's because I've had so many back to back this year and it's not slowing any time soon, but I can feel my brain turn to mush. It's cool though, I have Tom to keep me sane and that's been lovely. I'd be lying if I said I haven't been wondering where you are these days. You're not avoiding me, are you? @michaelbakari

oh, big time. they can be absolute insanity. no, but for real... you really have been on a roll this year and i think you deserve a little break. maybe i can be of service? we can't have that smarty-pants brain of yours turning into mush. how's working with tom going? me, avoiding you? absolutely fucking not. if i could have a moment of your time, you know i'd be there in a heartbeat. but at this moment, i fear you're the busier out of the two of us, so what's the sitch... have you been avoiding me?

it really is similar in some ways, yes. we are also trying to tell a story as models, we want the clothes to work with us. it is so much to think about, depending on where you are showing things off. that is an interesting way to look at it. it's been so good. i feel so lucky to be a part of this world.

big time, big time. you have to enhance what you're trying to sell, or it wouldn't really be all that effective. although certain ads, such as like... perfumes and shit, don't make any sense to me. like you don't know what's being advertised until the end. does it ever get tiring for you? being at the center of a shoot, but you not really getting the credit for it, because the promo will be all about the product?

You won't hear me disputing that, I'm game. It's you that's awfully hard to track down. Guess that's what happens when the world falls in love with you, suddenly you have less free time on your hands. I don't think the term boogie has been in fashion since the Jacksons made it a hit in the 70s, but since it's you, I'll let it slide. Okay, deal. You convinced me with the whole piggyback ride. bleached brows with dark hair freaks me out too. it just looks so ... odd, really. i was asked to do it for the photo shoot and have just kept it since then. couple weeks of having blonde eyebrows hasn’t been too bad. what's the biggest beauty risk you've ever taken?

it really does look odd. how do you deal with looking yourself in the mirror these days? i don't know about risks, but i went through a phase of wearing a lot of cardigans and graphic t's. they weren't exactly my best choices. i think my style and beauty routines have evolved through the times, and i'm happy with where i'm at currently. but it's trial and error all the way and i can afford a stylist now at least.

Stop judging me, Michael. If I want to be old school about decorating my fridge, it's my God-given right! I mean, what if I commission more from you? What if I eventually move to framing and hang your art on my walls? It's all a process, but you're not seeing the vision.

i will never not judge you for using tape on your fridge, ma'am. but if you commission artwork from me, you can do whatever the fuck you want with it. i'll make my mama proud and only take a small fee. i am not seeing the vision because i have almost zero artistic talent, but if you ask my mom i was picasso at the age of five. hey, would you look at that... we're in the same spot. i'm in los angeles currently, so we should be able to make that happen.

yeah, yeah. you're too kind. my boys are slowly but surely entering that phase where dad is becoming less cool, so i'm trying to enjoy my remaining time at the top. but since it's coming from hollywood's hearthrob, i'll just say thank you and that i appreciate it. it's really good to hear from you, man, it's been awhile. i'm doing pretty good, you know: working on things that keep me in the city, so i've been enjoying getting time with my people here. how've you been? what's the latest?
