There’s been a bit of a trend in the tech startup business, where founders are admitting it is hard work, a lot of struggle, and nobody is really ‘crushing it.’ I read one article today that talked about how a startup was in the media yet was thirty days away from closing.

Freedom is a luxury seldom enjoyed by the multitude. No one makes that point more clearly than Chinese artist Ai WeiWei.  As a political activist, he has been beaten and arrested for speaking out against the Chinese government’s stance on democracy and human rights.  I spoke with a co-worker who just arrived here a few weeks ago from China about Mr. WeiWei and I asked her “Is he right?” and her response was “In China, the police and the government are like God, all he is doing is expressing the frustrations of the people.  I love him.”
