YET SHE WAS UNAFRAID.

“Yeah.” That serpent had carried so much meaning to him. He was surely making it a reality in the future. “What would you get? Just out of curiosity.” 

“Um... I know it’s cheesy, but probably a butterfly? Or maybe a book. Just something tiny.”

“Ah-nothing special.” He flipped the small pad in front of him to show Mia the rough sketch. “Ouroboros. I’ve been thinking about getting it tattooed sometime. If I can a nice outline together that is.”

“It’s gorgeous, TJ.” Mia gushed as she looked it over. “It’ll look amazing.” Needles terrified Mia, so the thought of tattoos on her own body was out of the question but she still appreciated them.

“Gotcha.” Tate nodded before sitting up with a sigh. The male rolled up his sleeve and glanced at his watch, taking note of the time before turning his gaze to Mia. “Oh. Do not let me disturb you. Please, continue.”

Shaking her head, Mia put aside her book and turned to face him. “It’s fine. What are you working on?”

Lying there with his head propped on Mia’s lap, Tate slipped the small sketchpad from his pocket and started doodling.He didn't mind Mia immersing in her reading. There was a satisfaction that came from simply being in her presence.  “So… you finishing it all tonight?”

Mia snapped her head up at the sound of her boyfriend’s voice. She blushed prettily, shaking her head. “No. I have to pace myself or else I’ll be miserable when I finish. Kind of like when you get really good food.”

“How come you won’t read me penny dreadful again?”

Mia nearly jumped out of her skin. When she read, she got completely into her own world and hadn’t realized the littler Mia had come in. “Because you had nightmares, remember?”
