May you please share some writing tips (i need some tips bro 😢 )
Sorry, bruh, but this great one ain't so great HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
I'm gonna be honest with ya, I mostly write via instincts, and I'm the type of writer who'd write something cuz I think it's funny most of the time, haha. And I have the eternal curse of, 'Can't Spell for Shit' that I've had ever since I was little 💀
1. One of the tips I could give though is that you first need to be kind to yourself and to others. In a way, to see people actually helps you write people. A lot of my writings are mostly referenced from what I've learned throughout my short existence, the people I meet, and my experiences. And I also do research.
2. Showing instead of telling is one of the aspects I heavily lean on as well. In every chapter I write, I try to show instead of telling, though idk if I'm very good at it just yet, but I hope to improve so I can effortlessly convey my ideas on paper in the future. One of the reasons my writing style would often mimic that of a screenplay or script, is that it makes me visualize what it'd look like on screen or in people's heads, aside from the fact that it'll be easier to translate into comic form or on-screen later.
3. Start small. Start small and simple and start building from there, it's usually what I do. From world-building, character arcs, plot arcs, etc. Hell, Amare only started because I thought it'd be funny for Pax to be a flyer 'cause of Sen. It started with 2 ideas: Pax being a flyer and Challenging Sentinel's nature by being Orion's carrier.
4. One of the things I do is have intention in everything in drawing and in writing. The intention doesn't have to be grand or anything. It can be as simple as just wanting to convey that a character has a love for desserts. I tend to avoid shoe-horning ideas without proper backing as much as I can. But this is a personal knack of mine.
5. Drafting your ideas and structuring. Don't be like me who keeps everything in their head, it's a very bad idea since you might forget, and writing it on paper actually helps you visualize the story more. I'm just stubborn and prefer to do it inside my head despite having a shitty memory. My ideas will literally die with me since I barely write anything on paper, I keep it all in my head.
6. Being passionate about it and rest when you need rest. The last thing you want is your brain associating writing with something negative because you force yourself to work.
7. Writing characters and various other elements around the world, I usually don't write the world around the characters unless I need to. And plus, I noticed that puzzle pieces tend to fall in place on their own when I write around the world. The story starts writing itself.
8. Irony is your best friend. Examples of this are: A character fighting to be free but ends up caging themselves in the process. A scenario where a character is trying to make things better but shit becomes worse instead. A character wanting to end a bloodline they hate but also being a part of that line, leading them to hate themselves and making others bleed in the process—making them no better than the ones they're trying to end.
9. Have fun. Write because it's fun and write for yourself.
10. Don't beat yourself up if shit doesn't make sense, just continue working on it till it makes sense and you're happy enough about it or set it aside for your own well-being. I'd sometimes go and be like, "I just made some bullshit. It's shit, but it's MY shit and I'll be stubborn as shit about turning it into fertilizer to make something flourish."
That's honestly all I could think of for now. Pleaseeeeee don't take my words as truth or gospel, just think of it as something that might help you in your own journey to create. I am not a professional writer, just some person who fixates on stuff and has fun creating. A fun fact about me is that I'm actually considered an NSFW artist, haha. Transformers brought back my love for storytelling, causing me to draw less NSFW art. So I'm basically a porn artist who writes stories HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I bleed into my writing and I write about issues because if I don't, I become the issue 😂💀
