Help I Have Too Many Projects

Figured I'd post early this week instead of late :) Enjoy chapter 4!

Ignore the fact that it is once again Saturday. I finally got home after catsitting in a different city this week, and promptly collapsed on my couch.

But hey! At least I remembered- that's a win! Check out chapter 3 on A03.

And yall, why did nobody warn me chapter titles would be so hard to come up with?

Based on the results from the poll I put up a while ago, there was an even split between an original fan-fic (not a continuation of a one-shot), and an original short story. (Come on, no small game? Yall are killing me :( ) I'm going to leave it up to another vote, and this one's open for a week:

I originally started writing fanfic again to get back into the practice of writing, with the intent to move back to making video games, but I completely forgot how much I liked it.

I know I enjoy short stories, and want to try my hand at a longer novel, but that'll be a hot min before I do that.

In the end, I want to make video games again.

I have officially finished my edits for this fic! Chapter 5 has been sent off, and now I just wait to hear back!

I can't tell yall how excited I am to get this out to you guys! I'm planning on dropping a chapter a week, but if I get too busy I'll just plop it at your feet for you. :)

Sooooooo...

Guess who got sick again :)

It's been a hell of a few weeks yall. Went to Canada (Yippee!), got sick THE night I flew home (Not Yippee!), called off sick for the first time ever at my job (To be or not to be a Yippee), just generally suffered and focused on surviving for that week (So not a Yippee that ear/sinus infection was BRUTAL-), and am now struggling to finish packing as I am trying to finish moving out by next Friday!

Ya know.

Normal stuff.

Good news though- I have one last pass to make over my final chapter, and then I should be done! I sent to the first four to the lovely @songfrog to be beta-read, and really really really hope I'll have Chapter 5 done by the time they get to it.

Be on the lookout for the final updates! I recommend reading Tomorrow is a New Day by LiraBuswavi first, as my fic is a continuation of the oneshot they wrote.

Finished editing chapter one! It just needs to be beta read, and then it's good to go.

I do have a question for all you lovelies out there; Do you have people beta read each chapter as you finish it, then post the chapters as they finish, or do you wait till you finish editing everything?

I really want to start posting, but that's just me being impatient. On the flipside, I don't want to overwhelm my beta reader.

DRAFT 1 IS DONE!

HOLY COW YALL I FEEL AMAZING!

It only took a 30 page final chapter, but we did it! (Don't mind the fact that it sucks right now, it's done. We'll fill plot holes later.)

I am so excited to finally start polishing everything up and publishing this thing! I started working on this back in May of 2025 because I wanted to prove to myself that I could start a project, work on it, finish it, and not half-ass it.

It's also great writing practice before I go dive in to creating completely original works. My next project I want to make after this one is making a short video game.

I'll start refining Chapter One next week. @songfrog, hope you're ready to beta read!

Yall. Yall, I got the fighting scenes done and out of the way.

I JUST have to write the aftermath, which is like two paragraphs in my jot-down-the-basic-plot doc, which knowing me is two more pages of actual writing, so we're almost done! >:)

Sorry for the lack of consistent updates lately! I'm hoping I'm back at a point where I can go out every week, but we'll see. I've got a lot coming up life wise. All good, thank goodness.

Two more pages done! I wanted to do more, but I bummed out my wrist (again! For the 100th time I swear and I am so done) and it's seriously starting to bug me.

I just have the dramatic reveal left, then the wrap up, and then I'm done! With the drafts, anyway.

Ideally I get this done before March. Hopefully.

Got 2 more pages done! We're in the final stretch.

I'm going to make a prediction, (Which we know are never right), and say it'll take me two more weeks to finish the first draft for this final chapter.

I'm not going to even attempt to guess how many more pages.

I made it back to where I was before I realized my setting was all sorts of fucked.

I may also need to split this chapter into two.

BUT

I just have the final fight/revelation/maybe-set-up-for-a-sequel portion. I suck at action, but hey! What have we said about progress?

I seriously hope you guys all had a great holiday season, and a happy new year! I know things are crazy, and scary, and crazy scary, but I hope you all have a happy place you can go to to get away from it all for a while.

That's the whole reason I do what I do- to give others what I've been given. A slight reprieve, and maybe a bit of hope. Even if only one person finds enjoyment from my work, I still count it as a win.
