headcanon that he finds the willpower to live because he knows that snake wanted the best for him and sunny, and because he's learned after all the people that he's lost and all that he's been through that he's strong enough to stand on his own and move forward, and by doing so he can keep their memories alive. he does it even though it's hard, even though it hurts, even though some days he struggles to get out of bed, even though he'll always love him

#suicide mention #he survived being groomed and his whole family dying and thinking it was his fault for over a decade #i think he'll be okay #i lost my brother to cancer a few months ago. we were a year apart in age and i was his PCA so we were really close #losing someone who is a huge part of your life is hard #grief like that is hard but it is surmountable if you have the tools to deal with it #and i know otacon. he'll get through it #i do think he'd start smoking though #he'd smoke the remnants of snake's last cigarette and then he'd be hooked for life bc his grief and new addiction would team up against him #sunny would be soooo mad
