there is a genuine epidemic in these games of blue-eyed white looking wasians (solid snake, liquid snake, kaz miller). there’s also sniper wolf, paz, and chico who despite being kurdish, costa rican*, and nicaraguan respectively, all look white. every single one of these characters has eurocentric features that make it so you’d never guess where they’re actually from based off their designs alone. fortune (who is as far as i know one of two black women in mgs) is unambiguously black but she still has blue eyes and blonde hair. there really is such a pervasive pattern in these games of centring and prioritising whiteness, even in nonwhite characters.

and then there’s raiden, who honestly needs his own separate post with how laughably questionable every decision made there was.
