As a white person who lives far outside LAPD's jurisdiction, my thoughts on Dropout's upcoming collaboration with the copaganda show The Rookie are not important. I will add a small commentary of my own beneath a cut at the end, but I first want to elevate the voice of a Black member of our community whose guidance I will be following. Their name is Naomi Munroe, and they are a moderator of the group Game Changer: Samposting on Facebook. [Please note that Naomi is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns. Now, I do have a comment of my own that I would like to share. I know that Dropout's fanbase can be weird and parasocial. I don't try to come across that way, and I don't want to be perceived as another person making demands of a platform I've done nothing more than watch funny videos from. I know that not everyone is entitled to insider information on every concern and business decision ever.
But with the community in uproar on every platform I've been in (multiple Facebook groups, Tumblr, Bluesky, and I've heard also but don't use the platform formerly known as Twitter), it's been very hard to understand why nothing has been said by Dropout about it. There's been no statements on any platform. I'm not in a financial situation where I want to do superfan at the moment, but I've also heard secondhand accounts that it was barely mentioned in the livestream today beyond a hand-wavey, basic "they were good to work with," which does not address the actual issues at hand. I know that it's a privilege for me to be able to care about this a similar amount to the copaganda itself, but for a platform that's normally receptive, communicative, and open about these things, I just don't understand why they haven't said anything, and it's rather disappointing.
Like Naomi, I don't currently intend to act, because there's still much to be seen, but if it becomes a trend, I would certainly remember this if I were considering action on a future issue of a similar nature.

Finally reached The Friendship Section in my Fantasy High rewatch... and Ayda's and Adaine's friendship is so precious to me. The way Adaine sees Ayda and immediately gets on her level. She clarifies when she isn't offering a gift so Ayda doesn't feel uncomfortable, she offers to teach her Find Familiar for 50 gold pieces per spell level because that's the same deal Ayda offered for Sending, she tells off her friends for being rude to her.
And knowing how Ayda felt so out of place for so long, feeling left out, feeling like she didn't understand friendship to the point of building an entire section in her library for it, seeing this stranger look at her and not find her weird, seeing her stand up for her...
One of my favorite things about Game Changer is always seeing which cast members are chosen for each premise. Jacob, Lou, and Vic are chosen for the One Year Later episode because they're the over the top Commit To The Most Extreme Bit guys. Brennan, Katie, and Ify are chosen for the You-lympics because they are extremely competitive (and have a very strong personal branding). Ally, Zac, and Lisa are chosen for the Earnest-est episode because they are the silliest guys. They run on bits like it's gasoline. They need bits like they need air to breathe. Riz breaking into his friends' houses is an act of love. Ok. He just wants to check in. I think he does it to Fabian the most because Seacaster manor is pretty close, Fabian Riz bestieism, and also Fabian gets lonely and Riz knows he appreciates the company </3 he has the most fun doing it to Gorgug though. The Thistlesprings definitely have some ridiculous high tech security system and evading it is good exercise. Enrichment. They ask him for notes afterwards if he manages to sit down at the dinner table with them undetected. Mordred manor break ins happen the least because they're so far away from where he lives but (but!) it definitely HAS happened occasionally and whoever finds him first (more often than not Adaine. Cause. Y'know.) wins nothing but gets to feel better than everyone else (I think they've gotten way too into this and Raulothim's Psychic Lance shenanigans HAVE Happened. Riz has a great int save but he can't always win. Rip.)

Fabian actually has very thick facial hair and body hair, but as he was a late bloomer, he was completely hairless until like a year after his dad died. When he first noticed it, he fully had a mental breakdown, and Riz had to teach him how to shave.
To clarify, Fabian doesn’t truly dislike being a hairy guy, I think it would actually make him feel really cool and manly.
