             ❛❛   hey   ,   CAN I KEEP THIS ?   ❜❜   she tugs at the leather jacket , spinning around in front of the nearby mirror.  of course - she had a few of her own at home , but this was more of an excuse to take something of her girlfriends rather than actually NEEDING a new jacket. it wasn’t an oversized hoodie or anything but ... it was buttercups style and that’s really what mattered in the end.

He laughed back, rolling his eyes. Dipper knew she was JOKING, but part of him wanted to ACTUALLY look into it. Maybe LATER when Rachel was asleep or busy. It would probably turn up nothing, considering they just seemed to be UNLUCKY.

But still, it’d kill an afternoon if nothing else.

“Maybe NEXT TIME one of our dates get’s rained out we can do the cliche dance around in the storm, and hope we don’t get SICK from it.”

                             ❛❛   hey, if i get   SICK   from dancing in the rain with my boyfriend - then so be it !  in my personal opinion it’s so   worth   it to live out my cliche romance movie scene.   ❜❜   she nudges him .

                            with that said she moves to run off in front of him, twirling around before facing him again - holding her hand out with a cheeky grin  she’s serious about the situation - who said that they had to let their date end at the movie theater?

             ❛❛   oh ... well , i don’t really - do   FAMILIES   .   ❜❜   she tugs at her bag , taking a step back. she should have just stayed with jesse instead of wondering off. she could turn around - she should turn around and just go find him instead. 

“You’re the one who KNOWS this town, babe. I live in the BIG CITY remember?” Butch lived a VERY long ways away from Gravity Falls. But with his powers, he could travel between here and there in seconds. The perks of FLIGHT and SUPER SPEED.

He hummed in thought, stepping forward to wrap an arm around her with a WIDE SMIRK a moment later. “WELL, we could get outta here and find somewhere to cause some REAL TROUBLE. If ya don’t mind a little CRIMINAL activity. I know places where the cops get real mad about junk.”

                                                   does she   swoon  over the simple nickname ?   OF COURSE  , she can’t help it - it’s the way he talks that just makes her mind go blank for a moment causing a dumb grin to grace her features. she leans into his touch,   grinning   at his suggestion. he really just - knew her so well didn’t he ?

When she starts walking, he FOLLOWS, if only because NO ONE ELSE here was nearly as INTERESTING. It was rare to find people who weren’t acutely aware of just how dangerous he was, though that was because he RARELY left Townsville, and the NOVELTY of revealing his godlike powers still hadn’t worn off.

“Well, we could do WHATEVA’, you know I really don’t care.”

                  ❛❛   ohhh,   so i get to choose ?    ❜❜   she snorts, giving a thoughtful hum. what could they do ? - not a lot , there’s never a lot to do within gravity falls. it was a boring place - really. a few   PARTIES   every now and again , but even that wasn’t really her style.

“I know, I know. I just can’t help but WONDER sometimes.”

Dipper was GENUININELY going to look into seeing if they were cursed, if he was being honest. But he knew that they had PLENTY of ‘normal’ dates, even if they USUALLY did end in the typical Gravity Falls Chaos that NO ONE could really escape, even when they WEREN’T in Gravity Falls anymore.

“Stargazing is ALWAYS a classic, except for that one time it was too overcast to see anything and it started RAINING. That sucked.”

           ❛❛   i sense another night of looking up   CURSES   in our future . this definitely requires a stop at the smoothie shop for a sugar boost !   ❜❜    she laughs , nudging him a bit  -  she’s joking but , at the same time she wouldn’t be surprised if that’s  exactly  what they end up doing when they get back home that night . not that she minded - at all . it meant she could just curl up next to him as he researched and if she’s being honest that’s her favorite thing to do.

Butch was vain, EGOTISTICAL, it was so easy to get in his good graces, and even EASIER to get out of them if you said the WRONG THING. Wild and quick tempered, it was a miracle that Rachel ALWAYS seemed to know the right thing to say.

Maybe that was just proof that he DID need his brothers in some capacity.

They were able to see past the PRETTY WORDS.

“I like what I see too, babe. Everyone else is just gonna have to get JEALOUS.”

                   ❛❛   well , that has to   SUCK   for them - though isn’t it kind of fun knowing they can’t get what they want ?   ❜❜    she’s not sure why she’s able to stay on his good side - she’s not sure if she’s just   lucky   - or if it’s just her overly flirty  personality that managed to keep good graces - oh well . she didn’t really need to know the answer . she pushes the thought aside and moves in front of him . now walking backwards with her arms behind her back.

𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐘   takes  note  of  the  girls  clear  discomfort ,  something  she  was  used  to  getting  from  people  who  didn’t  like  authority.  she  has  never  heard  of  gravity  falls  up  until  this  morning  in  the  briefing  room ,  shrugging  off  that  it  was  just  another  small  town  tourist  trap  or  twin  peaks  parody.

“   𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓'𝐒   what  we’re  hoping  is  the  case.  but  first  we  need  to  rule  some  things  out.  is  there  a  specific  part  of  the  woods  the  younger  kids  might  go  to  seek  out   ?   maybe  an  urban  legend  that  they  might’ve  heard   ?   ”

     ❛❛   i mean ...   YEAH   there’s tons of places out there in the woods to go explore in . kinda the point - there’s a place in the forest with lots of crystals , and .. there’s a few islands off the coast of the beach with rumors of monsters. tourist love that kind of stupid stuff.   ❜❜

emily  considered  herself  to  be  good  with  kids  for  the  most  part ,  teenagers  however  were  a  whole  other  thing.  normally  jj  and  her  would  tag  team  with  questions  but  the  media  was  really  trying  to  get  information  on  this  kidnapping.   

               “   𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐋 ,  i’m  special  agent  prentiss  i’m  working  with  the  police  on  the  case  of  the  little  boy  who  went  missing  yesterday.  would  you  mind  if  i  asked  you  a  couple  of  questions   ?   ”

                               she never did good with    LAW ENFORCEMENT    , or with any authority figure for that matter. so she’s obviously nervous, tugging at a strand of her hair as a way to try and calm down . as least she seemed nice - and at least she was a girl. so that took some of the edge away .
