For this year's theme list, could the themes be more than one word? In past years I've found it quite hard to make something based on only a singular word... Where maybe more words/a lyric/short prompt/etc. may provide a little more inspiration
hi, thank you for your question! we have already begun finalizing the list of prompts for this year and they will generally be single-word length; the motivation behind using short, somewhat vague themes is to allow for as much creative freedom as possible for participants, as using prompts that can be interpreted in multiple different ways leaves room for more diversity in terms of what people choose to explore in their submissions.
we are going to be moving away from the bingo format this year, though, and instead will be using a setup with several different categories of prompts that can then be freely combined to generate something more specific for participants who want more direction. if you're still finding it hard to become inspired by these prompts, it may be helpful to do some digging and find songs, quotes, or poems that explore the themes you're intrigued by, and then use one of those longer excerpts as a jumping-off point for your creative journey!

Here‘s a sketch of Near as that one time I was at a hotel that had those buffet styled breakfasts and I ate a plateful of hardboiled eggs every day because I love eggs and he looks like the kinda guy to do that (Mello is never going to a hotel with him again, he’s dating a freak 💔💔)

When Mello finally gets her arms around Near, sweeping her up into a tight, warm hug, it feels like she’s been waiting years for the moment. Of course, she hasn’t been waiting years, but it has been a while— technically only three days since they last saw each other, but eight since the last time they fucked, and probably twenty-some odd days since Mello got to really, truly hold her. For three weeks and some change, she’s had nothing of Near save for a few quickies here and there, brief trysts squeezed in-between Near’s endless hours in the library and at the lab. Mello is beyond glad that the semester is finally fucking over. “You made it,” she sighs into Near’s neck. Near just makes a soft sound and presses closer. -- sequel to wrong idea with gorgeous accompanying fanart by @deelavis ❤️

Near blinks prettily up at her. Small tendrils of white hair and a halo of frizz catch the golden glow of the bulbs that surround the mirror behind Near, giving her an even more ethereal appearance than normal. If she weren’t so flushed, and her eyes weren’t so dazed and dilated, she might look angelically innocent; as it is, she looks like she’s a few seconds away from starting to beg for Mello’s dick.
