meronia for life

we’re pleased to finally release the full list of prompts for meronia week 2026! today, june 17, marks the beginning of a two-month countdown to the event in august, time which participants may use to prepare their submissions in advance if they so choose.

this year, in lieu of the the bingo board format, we are using a list of prompts split into three categories. there is no way to “win” the event this year, per se, but participants will earn achievements for using certain numbers or combinations of prompts. for example, one achievement might be earned by using all the prompts in one category; another might be awarded to the participant who combines prompts from all three categories in one submission.

(at a later date, we will release a partial list of the achievements possible; there will still be several secret achievements that can only be discovered by accidentally reaching them ✨)

there are officially 30 days remaining before the start of meronia week 2026! the event will run from august 17th through august 24th, and all forms of fanworks will be accepted. we’re very excited to see what everyone creates!

One of the prompts matched a previous meronia content i made before but it wasn’t made for meroniaevent, and i’m wondering if the prompt strictly need to be creative or allow reuse ideas.

i wouldn’t redraw or refine it but I’m just afraid its not following the rule

hi there! participants are strongly encouraged to submit new pieces (or pieces that have not previously been shared on tumblr, at least) for the event, but old works are allowed to be submitted as well if you have something you shared in the past that fits one of our prompts. i would say, as a guideline, that there should be at least one new piece for every old work you submit.

hi, thank you for your question! we have already begun finalizing the list of prompts for this year and they will generally be single-word length; the motivation behind using short, somewhat vague themes is to allow for as much creative freedom as possible for participants, as using prompts that can be interpreted in multiple different ways leaves room for more diversity in terms of what people choose to explore in their submissions.
