It was a busy day at the gym today. He had appointments after appointments and in between those he was running classes and giving nutrition advice to people that were asking him about it all. With the gym now quieting down, he managed to get a workout of his own in. Running on the treadmill to build up his cardio, he was away in a world of his own and hadn’t noticed someone jump onto the machine next to his.

She had finished her paperwork for the day and she was determined to get some sort of gym time. Merida headed to The Sweat Shop and made a beeline to the ladies locker room to change. By the time she emerged from the room, the gym had quietened down and she spotted Ryan on the treadmill “Hey butthead, do ye ever venture out of here?” she asked, trying to ensure her eyes avoid roaming around. 

“Oh crap, I promise I’ll get this. Dancing was never much of my thing when I was younger, it was all about archery. I swear I’ll get this” 

“Thank god for the invention of coffee right?”

“I know right? I think we’d be dealing with a town full of zombies if it wasn’t for it”

Juliette wrapped her jacket tightly around her as she stood outside. She looked up as white flakes began falling from the sky. A smile grew quickly on her lips. “Il fait neige. I love the snow.”

“It always snows back home in the Highlands of Scotland this time of year. I’ve missed it more than I thought” she sighed and closed her eyes, feeling the snowflakes touch her face “I haven’t been home for Christmas in years”

           — Marcel would never admit out loud that he had missed the small town of Apple Peak while he was away, but he had. Going home for the holidays wasn’t exactly his favorite activity, but he enjoyed the attention and the gifts he was usually drenched in. Of course, being back in town mean’t going back to work, so there he was, at work, waiting for it to even get remotely busy, looking bored out of his mind.

Merida was out running some errands while she managed to grab a free hour within her schedule. She had just left the bookshop when she had spotted the familiar face “Marcel. Welcome back, how was your holidays?”

“Look I’m just closing up shop for the day, I’ve got something on. I can have a quick look at your car and have it fixed by the end of tomorrow morning for you, that okay?”

“That’s perfectly fine Tatum, thank you” she smiled “I don’t need it until tomorrow afternoon properly anyway. I hope the car won’t be too much of a bother for you”

 It was cold. December hadn’t been cold for him in a few years, and this was a bit of a shock. A very chilly, but pretty, shock. Grinning to himself, as he stopped to look at one of the fancier decorations, he figured that he might actually have a decent Christmas this year.

She couldn’t have been prouder of the hard work and dedication that the council workers had put in to help decorate the town to the high standards it deserved. Merida wandered round admiring every last detail from the angels right down to the handmade snowflakes. 

“I think you are one hundred percent right that empire is better than the phantom menace. Yeah, that’s right, town mayor knows about this stuff and has argued with her three brothers about this long enough to know that empire is the best” she laughed “I’m glad you could avoid a civil brawl over star wars, I don’t think i need that on the run up to christmas.”

“Not at all, I don’t see why you can’t watch them”

“You do know it’s considered rude to show up with out an appointment don’t you?” She says looking up from her desk. “But I guess this one time I can make an exception. Now, what can I do for you?”

Merida smiled at the professionalism of her colleague when she left her office “He’s just here to pick up a letter from me” she chimed in and walked over to the desk to hand over the letter. She waved a goodbye to the civilian and turned to Carol “Sorry, it was a last minute stop in. I sent a memo but it was too late.” she apologised “I was just about to head for some lunch, would you like to come along? Or I can bring something in for you if you’d like?”
