I've read that the music that you listen to when you're ~14 becomes especially significant to you but is there something about being ~8 years old that makes movies more significant to you? I feel like movies that I saw when they came out between 2003 and 2005 have my psyche in a chokehold
500 days of summer (2009), dir. Marc Webb.
cassie is so embarrassing oh my godd it’s getting hard to watch. that “but she’s my best fwienddddd🥺🥺🥺” line made me physically ill. and don’t even get me started on how everyone’s defending her. “sHe’s traUmaTizEd” boohoo so are the rest of the characters but no one seems to have an issue dragging them through the mud. exhibit a) jules
lexi and fez at the corner store: an obsessive frame-by-frame breakdown
FIRST of all, I just want to talk about how adorable these two are. Like just LOOK AT THEM.
I feel like no one else has really SEEN Lexi the way Fez does and she's just so giggly and bubbly and Fez is all smiling and laughing it's so fucking adorable and anyone who says otherwise is just plain wrong.
NOW, let's get to the corner store scene.
Like... LOOK AT FEZ'S EYES JUST LIGHT UP. I swear I have never seen this manz so awake in his life. Also Lexi worked up the courage to blast hyperpop, put on this adorable outfit, and bike all the way to his store to come see him. Season 1 Lexi would have never.
And just look at how HAPPY Lexi looks to see him. This is also just some color theory BS but she chose to wear red lipstick, a color she rarely wears. It also matches with the neon background of the fridge behind her. I just thought this was cool since red is like the color of intensity, romance, and love. It's clearly the focal point in this scene.
But listen... the MOMENT she sees Faye her heart immediately just drops. Her entire smile vanishes and she just looks so defeated. She automatically makes the assumption that Fez and Faye are together.
She is just in such disbelief that someone could actually SEE her. And the moment she finally builds up this courage to SAY something, to make a move, it all comes crashing down. It is almost a form of self-sabotage. Her insecurities are taking over again, and she feels stupid and like she made a mistake for even coming to see Fez.
She then shuts down the entire encounter by saying she "just came to get a drink" instead of being truthful and just allowing her feelings to be known. Also the way Fez's smile IMMEDIATELY disappeared when she said those words UGHH.
I know the show is trying to make this a slow burn romance type beat but come ONNN they deserve to be happy. Anyways, they are the only two people in this show with common sense and I am rooting for them.
ALSO. Can we just talk about the beautiful, cinematic PARALLELS of this masterfully crafted moment with Lexi looking at Cal enter the store:
Juxtaposed to the same exact shot of Fez when Nate walked in during Season 1.
Euphoria is a masterpiece, ship Lexi and Fez, aaaand yeah that's it that's the tweet thanks for coming to my ted talk.

And then, 10 minutes later, almost beat Nate Jacobs to death.
LEXI & FEZCO Euphoria | 2.02 “Out of Touch”
when they were filming this season do you think they knew we would go absolutely feral for lexi and fezco?
The way these two are gonna carry this season

Lexi, Faye, Ashtray and Fez were not the potential found family quartet I was expecting but damn if the scene of all four of them staring at Nate's dad, gearing up for a fight in the gas station didn't give me ideas.
They'd be like the scooby gang but with drugs.
