I feel a stirring in my gut - a warning, something is coming. my body feels the shift in the air, the change in the pressure. frantically it revolts against me, desperate for me to see what’s coming, but blissful ignorance is a gift. if I can’t change your mind, then I’ll beg my body to quiet, to settle, and let me enjoy what we have left. 

my chest tightened, my body grew tired. fear laced my blood -- owning every part of me. warm liquid traced patterns into my worn skin, leaving wetness in place of pain -- washing away shame that weighed so heavy. fragile bones broke under the power of anger. jaw ticking -- veins dancing -- knuckles whitening. i crave the world i can’t see -- the fleeting peace i can almost touch. in those quiet moments when i'm at rest, my thoughts turn to you & with your eyes on me -- i find the strength to close my eyes & breathe.

what ifs play heavy on my tongue. a fear so blinding it keeps me from seeing you. i simply see a ticking time bomb, a count down with little numbers remaining. i want to soak it all in, capture the little moments, the laughs, the breeze against our skin, the sound of you holding me close - me pushing you away. i want more than i’ll ever be given. my world is consumed with worry for you - for me - for what will become of what is ours. the sand continues to slip away; the weight of the hourglass shifting in my hands. your warmth does little to soothe the ache in my shivering bones; as my anxiety builds with each second that fades away. show me how to be like you, to live in these moment because these moments are all we have. it’s almost up - goodbye is so close now.

Across mountains and valleys it carried, beyond oceans & rivers it never wavered. So often denied, simply falling on deaf ears, but it only grew in determination. It radiated love, wrapping all those who would listen in its peace. It's mercies were endless, it's journey never over. For the few who choose to listen, the answers became clear, their lives forever shifted. As their ears opened, their hearts were filled with the truth, the call becoming their own, so they choose to run after the steady vibrations. The echo growing stronger as their voices joined its journey, constantly reaching further, determined for all to hear. it won't always be easy, barriers will be placed in our way, obstacles trying to slow us down, to shut us down, but together, we are many. together we are greater, a sound that refuses to be quieted. A voice that started as one, piercing the earth & rippling out, continuing in me, in you. We are not a lone echo, we are not a small voice, we are a mighty force & we will never be silenced.
