itâs so crazy having a follower base on tumblr knowing full well itâs not based on selfies or anything like people are here for your crazy twisted mind. i feel like nietzsche
one of my absolute favorite things about fanfiction is the the way it just âi will take this shamelessly self-indulgent/ridiculous as absolute crack concept and i will treat it seriously.â
because my god it lets you explore those really insane contrived ideas, or the ones that 14 year old you would have sighed about but been embarrassed by, but in a way that really examines it all, lets it have depth and nuance, lets you turn it over at every angle to find the surprises and the touching moments and the painful parts and the ways it both is and isnât silly or exactly what you want it to be.
it takes all those ideas and just lets them have dignity.
fanfiction will let you write or read about two dudes accidentally raising a baby while running their coffee shop which one of them uses as a front for their assassin side gig all while they slowly fall in love, or about a woman who is just like you and so many like you, even in the embarrassing, not-cute-quirky ways, who survives an apocalypse and has to do so at the side of the actor she loved so much but would never have looked twice at her before the end of the world.
and it lets you do all that while plumbing the emotional, moral, philosophical depths, and the ways the dream holds up and where it wrinkles, how you can let realism in, but not in a way that ruins the fantasy, instead only enhancing it.
mainstream literature and published genre fiction has been doing a lot of this kind of thing for straight, white, cis men for a long, long time now, and it has strongly boxed out everyone else and fostered a culture that ridiculed anyone else for wanting to have that for themselves.
but fanfiction lets us all have that, and it doesnât ask us to present it with a wince, with a shy mumble; it never asks us to be embarrassed by what we love or what we want.
just take it seriously, fanfiction offers. because you deserve to.
No but seriously as Iâve gotten older I realize more and more that although white gays do face certain levels of oppression they are still white people.....like does that make sense?
Like yes a white lesbian has some form oppression against her but sheâs still a white woman..... and the same thing for white gay men and white trans men and women like theyâre still white !!!!!!
Like I donât mean this in a rude way but like if weâre going to be honest about the lgbtq community we should also talk about how the white people in said community oppress poc and it doesnât change just because theyâre in a minority group theyâre still white people
And like personally Iâve seen that white lgbtq ppl hate when you bring up that their still white because theyâve separated themselves in their mind as being better but theyâre still white!!!
Hello white people should definitely be looking at this and reblogging it lmaooo
americans better be rebloging the donation and help links for mexico and colombia after all the help they recieved from latin americans w their own issues
i'm not joking, after all the support usamericans have received and continue to constantly receive from latinoamerica, you really do better be helping us back, taking in count that a huge chunk of the things latinoamerica has suffered and keeps suffering to this day is because of your country's intervention here. i'm posting some links to learn more about the current situations in mexico and colombia, but here is a carrd dedicated to the compilation of resources to aid all of latinoamerica that you SHOULD look into further and SHARE
mexico: Mexico carrd | feminicides in Mexico carrd | Mexico needs you carrd | ways to help Mexico carrd | feminicides in Mexico, a thread | Âżporque la CNDH fue tomada por mujeres? thread think about this: a Mexican explains Mexico's situation | thread in spanish: the situation in mĂŠxico | The Collapse NY times article | the drought: el financiero article, Spanish
colombia: Colombian armed conflict carrd | situaciĂłn en Colombia carrd, in spanish | what's happening with bombing and children? thread | why will Colombians go out to protest from this APRIL 28? thread in English | thread with info in English | What is Happening, thread | what is happening | Colombian information carrd
that said, boost the shit out of this post and share all the links with everyone and everywhere you know. this goes to non-americans as well. we need help, people are dying, our governments are killing us.

MARVEL (½) PHASE 4: FINALISED DATES OF RELEASE
before and after.
How did I not hear about France banning hijabs? Whatâs going on?
long story short, thereâs legislation in the process of being passed that would
ban girls under 18 from wearing any form of religious head covering in public, and although itâs obviously aimed at muslim women, it would also affect other faith groups that practice similar forms of modest dress
ban islamic swimwear in schools and public (there is already a modest swimwear ban in place at public beaches, this just extends it)
ban mothers wearing hijab from entering schools or participating in school field trips or extra curriculars
ban the slaughter of halal poultry - the cheapest and most easily accessible form of meat protein for the muslim community
extend school hijab bans to universities
prevent muslim women from choosing healthcare providers based on gender (which many muslim women prefer to do, since many exams require removal of clothing, etc)
ban muslim parents from homeschooling
force halal markets to sell pork and alcohol or face closure
ban foreign flags at weddings
What can I do to help? This sounds utterly outrageous and I want to help out in any way I can even though I am just in the US.
hey guys! lots of people are asking how to help, so iâm reblogging this again with some more info and resources. please remember that, like i stated before, this is not yet law but in the process of becoming law.
more information is coming out daily, and there are a few corrections and updates to note:
the modest swimwear ban, though it was overturned in 2016 for public beaches, will still affect public pools and schools
the halal ban is not technically a âbanâ, but it is still expected to severely impact the industry in a way that could produce similar effects and make halal poultry less affordable and accessible to the communities that rely on it as an affordable staple.
the notion to extend the hijab ban to universities is not yet in effect or being introduced, but many fear it will be the next step
How can you help?
Here are some info posts on how to help. Sources will also be linked at the bottom:
Sources and tips:
source for the insta timeline
how you can help
how to be a better ally to muslim women
how to educate yourself and be an ally + organizations to reach out to
why you should not wear hijab in solidarity
A few tips; talk to muslim women instead of for them - learn about why some women choose to wear it while also learning about why some women choose not to - learn about what hijab means for women and men - donât limit your support to a few posts, be active - educate yourself about how colonialism, racism, and orientalism plays into this
the hashtags #CantBanUs and #HandsOffMyHijab are trending, but they were created by and for muslim women. spread their stories and give them platform, but donât occupy their space
Information is constantly changing, so if any fellow Muslims out there have some additional links, updated info, or tips, please feel free to add on
And lastly, please donât add unnecessary commentary or confrontational dialogue to this post. Reblogs encouraged!

sometimes i really love my fics. i wrote that because i wanted to read it. i love it. nobody visits my fics more than me. they remind me that iâm a hard worker, that i created something. itâs mine and i cherish it and love it because itâs exactly what i wanted so i made it.
and other days iâm crippled by self criticism and hate everything and canât bear to look at my own work because i know itâll never compare to the greats
but i live for the days i love my work. because itâs mine, and i made it. i didnât wait for somebody else to make what i dream about. i went and did it myself.
so donât feel like your work is awful
itâs the stuff you dreamed about. itâs the stuff you decided to make a reality. itâs not about quality, or poetry, or how perfectly your sculpt your words or keep it so deeply in character; because itâs what you dreamed and itâs what you wanted to see, so you made it.
keep writing; itâs yours, and you made it. and if you want to continue to sharpen and improve yourself? then do it. itâs all yours and you can make it whatever you want.
keep writing.
Me: wow Iâm way too attached to fictional characters
Me: *sees yâall send death threats to writers because you didnât agree with their decisions*
Me: never mind Iâm attached the healthy amount
unfriendly reminder: this is a sex worker positive space. I will not tolerate the disrespect of sex workers here, and if you cant agree with that without a doubt then you're not welcome here.
sure would be nice if people other than porn blogs and sex workers reblogged this
before tfatws comes out, i just want to get this out there (a rant):
disclaimer: i am not hating on bucky barnes or sebastian stan.
the show is called falcon and the winter soldier. itâs not called the bucky show. itâs not called the winter soldier show. iâve seen too much of this out there even before the show has come out, where people have been complaining about the lack of lines bucky has, or how it feels to them like samâs getting the focus of the show.
sam is currently one of the most visible (read: only) black superheroes in the mcu, as anthony mackie has touched on in multiple interviews. as of right now, he has a responsibility and a job that bucky does not, so the question that basically amounts to âwhyâs the black guy getting so much screentimeâ is tone deaf and appalling.
and to the people who direct these sentiments at anthony mackie as an actor: anthony mackie is finally getting the recognition he deserves, with the support of all his castmates (including sebastian stan), and it is not the place of primarily white fans to tell him he doesnât deserve the spotlight just as much as sebastian for whatever reason, however dirty you feel bucky has been done in the mcu.
this breaks my heart. he has done nothing to feel this way aside from having mainly white costars, but that pattern should not continue for this show as well.
to continue the tangent of âbucky deserved the shieldâ or âsam isnât worthy of the shieldâ or any of that to anthony mackieâs face, to disregard and downplay his so far incredible portrayal of sam wilson, a character that has been canonically disregarded by people to the point where most of america united behind the ânot my captain americaâ movement (which is likely something he will struggle with in this show as well), only proves the purpose and validity of his role.Â
so when the show comes out, i want to see everyone put some respect on samuel thomas wilsonâs name. i donât want to see sam sidelined for yet another white man, not when this is the show that was built to put him in the spotlight. i donât want to see sam slander when heâs âtaking away buckyâs spotlight.â they are sharing the spotlight. sam has as much of a right to it as bucky. and that is a fact.
i yield my time. <3

In many cultures, ethnic groups, and nations around the world, hair is considered a source of power and prestige. African people brought these traditions and beliefs to the Americas and passed them down through the generations.
In my motherâs family (Black Americans from rural South Carolina) the women donât cut their hair off unless absolutely necessary (i.e damage or routine trimming). Long hair is considered a symbol of beauty and power; my mother often told me that our hair holds our strength and power. Though my motherâs family has been American born for several generations, it is fascinating to see the beliefs and traditions of our African ancestors passed down. We are emotionally and spiritually attached to our hair, cutting it only with the knowledge that we are starting completely clean and removing stagnant energy.
Couple this with the forced removal and covering of our hair from the times of slavery and onward, and you can see why so many Black women and men alike take such pride and care in their natural hair and love to adorn our heads with wigs, weaves, braids, twists, accessories, and sharp designs.
Hair is not just hair in African diaspora cultures, and this is why the appropriation and stigma surrounding our hair is so harmful.
