This is the 2nd part of my art reference challenge. If you don't know, the art reference challenge is when you use a random word generator to give yourself subjects and a setting. Then, you make 2 drawings: 1 with no references whatsoever and 1 using references for everything.
My generated words were: a hostile gypsy, a cozy sweater, the King of Beasts, and a Japanese side street at night with neon signs. I used the first Google result for these 4 things and used those to draw the picture. I like the second picture more overall, but I like the idea of the dragon King of Beasts more. Which one do you like more?

I got inspired by @lavendertowne 's Youtube art reference challenge. The challenge is to use a random word generator to give yourself subjects and a setting. Then, you make 2 drawings: 1 with no references whatsoever and 1 using references for everything.

@elizastark was the first artist I tried to learn from, specifically how she does hair. I think it's an improvement. I also tried a sketchy-er lineart style. Next, I'm going to practice linework and shading/lighting from @mohammedagbadi , maybe add some hair lighting from Dana Rune, the artist behind The Arcana. I also have some finished commissions I'll be posting soon! Constructive critiques are welcomed!
Watching @ethanbecker70 Youtube videos is a big reason why I decided to take freelancing more seriously. His videos showed me how to break down references to better my work. I have commissions to work on that'll post soon, but my first personal project is to study different art styles to better my own. This is Rum Tum Tugger is my current style and I think it turned out well :)
