professional mel king cookie wanter

my headcanon is that when the king sisters were kids, like maybe 8 or 9, their parents sent them to a horseback riding camp for a few weeks. becca absolutely hated it, found it boring, and begged to go home early, so they did. and mel was devestated. she became deeply obsessed with horses. i'm talking:

- posters all over her room

- avid watcher of horseland

- breyer horse collection

- consumed any and all educational material surrounding horses; to this day, she can identify any breed of horse just by looking at it

- she can tell you the difference between a gallop, a canter, and a trot

she has the horse socks and the horseshoe earrings because even years after the hyperfixation has faded, becca and mel's extended family, aunts and uncles and cousins who don't know much about her, still associate her with horses and gets her anything horse related they find so she just has like. horse everything. (i'm all too familiar with this experience because my family does the same thing to me but with foxes)
