despite there being other people in the circus, you feel pretty lonely around them. you can't really make a connection with any of them – jax is too mean, gangle too nervous around you or kinger too quiet. so the one you end up sticking around to is caine!

caine tries to get you to hang around the others, pairing you up with them during the adventures, but it really only has the opposite effect. seeing how well the others get along makes you pull back even more and you feel even lonelier…

while everyone else is avoiding caine like the plague, you follow him around everywhere! you two are both lonely outcasts, are you not? maybe you'd be able to make each other feel less lonely…

after a while, caine begins to warm up to you. he has liked you all along, like he likes everyone in the circus, but slowly he accepts you as a friend and even invites you along with him, wherever he goes. no more having to invite yourself to things now!

caine even gives you little adventures alongside him! they tend to be easier and more relaxed – more hangouts between friends than solving any puzzles. he doesn't know how to be a friend to others, but he really wants to learn it for you…

This joke seemed a lot funnier when my friend made it.
