Sweet, Sweet Chaos

Mika sighed and brushed her fingers through her hair, wearily looking around herself. The shop was quiet, empty. Amelia and her family had gone off on vacation, and she'd returned from Spain for a while to housesit and mind the shop. It had been so long. It was still rather difficult for her to readjust.

All of her time had been spent in Spain, rebuilding her childhood home and doing everything she could to set up a good life for her son. She looked down at the little boy, smiling as she ruffled his dirty blonde curls. "You look just like your papa, you know?"

The little one was only around two years old, but he had already gotten a fairly good grip on language. English wasn't his best yet, but he could speak Spanish like a pro. She was trying to go ahead and help him learn English as well, especially since they'd be living in New York for a while now. 

"Oh wow, it's a kid! I haven't seen anyone younger than their mid-twenties in forever."
