They told me that I was the luckiest person alive because I loved you, and you loved me back. They told me that to love someone and to be loved in return was possibly the best thing that could happen to me, and that I should enjoy the sensation while it lasted. They also wished me that your love lasted me a lifetime.  They were wrong. They were not only wrong because your love for me was ephemeral, so beautiful yet so fleeting – but they were also wrong because I wasn’t the luckiest person alive because you loved me back. I was lucky because I had someone like you in my life. Someone who made me realize the beauty of the wildflowers on the side of the road, someone teared up at the artwork that the sky presented whenever the sun dipped into the horizon – someone who knew how to love me in ways that I never knew. You left me eventually, but I still think I’m one of the lucky ones.

If a writer falls in love with you, you can never die.
