These characters mean everything to me. (Sorry no mobile game protags nor Tina and the other guy. Simon will get his own when the game comes out! Also I’d like to make a part two with the other female characters like Jodie and Mary. <3)
- VEEEEERY tall. 6’3 specifically. Seems tall to me but others might argue otherwise.
- Absolute dork which may or may not be canon. Everything he does makes him look way older than he actually is and it doesn’t help when he’s wearing his nerd glasses.
- Usually pretty serious but also has a dry sense of humor.
- Good cook. Enjoys making pasta most of all.
- Heavily greases his hair because he inspired his whole look off greasers. I think he definitely loved the outsiders as a kid.
- Other than mystery, sci fi is another one of his favorite genres.
- Smells really good. Like a mix of cinnamon, mahogany, and leather. Also he just LOOKS fresh and clean too, like you can tell he takes great pride in his hygiene.
- For some reason I associate him with the song “wonderful Christmas time”. Actually I just associate him with Christmas in general. Harry just exudes that warm, comforting familial feeling that comes from the holiday I guess.
- Used to smoke as a teenager but quit while he was ahead.
- Pretty good singer, at least a lot better than the others would be. I imagine he sounds kinda like Michael Buble for some reason. Probably their shared baritone ass voices and yet again me projecting my Christmas feelings onto Harry Mason.
- His inner critic is very mean. Calls himself “Harrold” when he’s scolding himself or trying to pull himself together.
- He was definitely suffering from some level of PTSD or depression after SH1. I mean who wouldn’t? I think he went back and forth on seeking help. Even when he convinces himself, he backs away every time in fear of it biting him in the ass somehow.
- Despite that I think he’s pretty in touch with his emotions. He used to be bullied in highschool for being more sensitive than the other boys, so hes learned to suppress showing them as much, but he’s very emotionally intelligent and good at discussing topics that coincide with it.
- Used to hide during gym class because he is NOT a sports guy.
- Memorized different nursery rhymes and would sing them to baby Cheryl to make her stop crying. When Heather came into his life, he tried to do the same…but in the end he never could finish them. He would only begin to cry.
- He’s sort of fluent in both polish and Japanese (because technically in a way that IS canon lmao)
- Takes holidays and birthdays VERY seriously. Will fall apart if they don’t go the way he expected. He’s actually usually neutral about most things, but events like that he feels are supposed to be taken seriously and will blame himself if things fuck up.
- Somewhat good with computers, would be terrible with phones.
- Likes seafood. Idk why I thought of this so long ago but he just seems like he would.
- Enjoys thrifting. Buys everything from useless knick knacks to clothes he finds stylish. Which makes me wonder “what would James even find fashionable???”. He also buys things that remind him of Mary for her and she saves every item in a safe place. They would shop a lot together and it made what would be something normally boring so much more delightful.
- NOT on speaking terms with Frank. He only refers to him by his first name when talking about him and knows on some level he inherited a lot of his issues (which isn’t great for the self esteem).
- I always say this but he’s a massive people pleaser. When he slips up and says something wrong he replays it in his head over and over, kicking himself for not understanding how to approach the conversation originally.
- He was in charge of the cleaning duties in his and Mary’s house. Mary was more of the squeamish one while he on the other hand isn’t that bothered by grim and dirt and other gross stuff he has to scrub. He takes care of it without much complaint and thinks it’s funny when Mary gags at him taking care of the problem.
- I’ve always had the HC that he listens to female ballad singers like Sarah McLachlan or Celine Dion. He finds himself relating more to their lyrics and sound than male singers. I also think he’d like Christina Aguilera for some reason that I can’t even explain. And now I’m gonna contradict myself by saying that I think total eclipse of the heart is his favorite song ever.
- Talented roller skater, enjoys traveling with them on but Harry’s trying to ween her off it because he’s scared she’s gonna bust her head open!!
- Obsessed with peaches and oranges. Fruit, flavored candy, scented products, it’s just her thing.
- Spends most of her allowance on edgy clothing stores at the mall. She experiments when she feels like it, trying to figure out what really fits her.
- Loves 80s-90s anime. Harry doesn’t understand them but she doesn’t expect him too. He listens to her blab about them when they run out of other things to talk about and Heather is always pleasantly surprised when he does remember info and about them.
- Feels somewhat indebted to Harry. His opinion really matters to her and one of the things she wants the most is for him to be proud of her. Or…maybe it’s her wanting to feel like she’s someone to be proud of, cause Harry tells her all the time about his pride in her.
- i think rock really speaks to her. She’s really drawn in by it. The loudness, the heaviness, the energy, etc. Her favorites are Deftones, Hole, and the cranberries. They just remind me of her idk. Her favorite songs are celebrity skin and gutless.
- I always saw her as Aroace. If somebody asked if she was dating anyone she’d be like “Hah, why would I ever do THAT?”
- Would troll assholes online if she had the courage or chance. She’d delete every comment soon after because of paranoia.
- Other hobbies include doodling mostly eyes and flowers and learning how to make different things. I think she’s the type of person to try and figure how to do things on her own instead of asking for help or using tutorials unless she’s out of options.
- When Heather’s (very rarely) mad at Harry she’ll draw him very unflatteringly in a super secret journal she keeps locked away in the deepest corner of her bedroom. It’s not even just him, it’s everybody she ever gets annoyed with.
- Reaaaally likes lizards. She thinks they’re both cute and hilarious at the same time and dreams of getting one at some point. She’d name it scout or something silly like that.
- Total night owl. She fantasies about walking the streets with her friends past curfew or being at a concert that lasts until the morning after. It’s impossible to get her to sleep early. Why would she ever wanna do that when she could be doing so many other things instead?!
- I’m being bias but he’s Cambodian to ME!!!! Probably has a white dad. I think he’d go to Khmer new year festivities and take pictures of everything going on.
- Big cat person. Still has a picture of his childhood kitty in his wallet. Her name was Lucky and he loved her more than anything in this world :,)
- He reminds me of the band 10 years so i think he listens to 10 years LMFAAAAO.
- Mamas boy. They’re two peas in a pod and he definitely gets his creative side from her.
- Henry’s from San Francisco and as a kid would travel to Maine to see his distant family members. Silent Hill was nearby and they’d always stop just to check it out which Henry would continue doing every time he went back there.
- He doesn’t really connect to his family as they’re surprisingly more extroverted than him. He can only take their rowdy personalities so much until he’s searching for his car keys so he can leave early. Every. Single. Reunion.
- Actually counts sheep to help him fall asleep. It works somehow.
- Daydreams a lot. This caused some problems during his high school years.
- Sugar fills the void in his heart. He tries not to snack on them as much anymore but he has a massive sweet tooth since he was a child. He especially chewy candy like gummy bears or laffy taffy. He also loves Nom Kroch but that’s more of a pastry than candy.
- Had a stuttering issue as a kid. He would try to reply quickly and end up not even thinking about what he was gonna say. Henry learned to slow himself down.
- He’s kind of a chameleon in the sense he tries to replicate how others act, taking inspiration so he knows how to approach further situations. Like when he was hugging Eileen, I always saw that as him trying to comfort her in a way hes seen people comfort others. Though of course it didn’t work as well in that context.

- I don’t think he’s actually a serial killer, just…has a dark sense of humor.
- Always seems to be moving around. Helps distract him. When it’s not him trucking around, Travis’s taking his motorbike out for a spin or wandering wherever he feels like.
- He’s a nomad. Doesn’t have one specific home, he doesn’t like anything tying him down. He adapts easily and can sleep anywhere and everywhere, even if it ingrains pain in his neck. Hotels, motels, inns, hostels, he’s been in all of them.
- permanent resting bitch face. He’s the type of guy you say “I thought you’d be mean” to. Most of the time he isn’t thinking about how much he hates you and is instead just wondering where he’s going for lunch.
- Breakfast he doesn’t think as hard about. He eats the same black coffee and breakfast sandwich everyday, it’s fucking insane.
- He misses his parents more than he can stomach. Growing up, he tried different things to help cope with what happened, but he was never able to finish what he started. Sometimes Travis would try to write “unsent letters” to his parents, venting all his frustrations and loneliness and fear about growing up without guidance. He always ended up trashing the papers though. As a young adult he decided it’s better to keep everything inside, figured nobody can fix what’s already long broken.
- Homecoming Travis? I actually imagine hes become much happier since then. Finally has a home he can return to, found people who welcomed him into their own families, and can miss people while reassuring himself he will see again.
- He still thinks about Alessa everyday. He attempted to find info about her (and even baby Cheryl) later on but with his limited knowledge and tools eventually gave up. Sometimes in his older age tries to tell himself it was all some fucked up dream, but he knows that’s not true.
- Doesn’t know how to tie shoes. Nobody ever taught him! He only wears shoelaceless boots now.

- Alessa and Alex are far from the only people Travis has helped out. After everything with Alessa he swore to himself to never turn a blind eye to somebody again (within reason, of course). Being charitable and opening himself up to people gave his life new meaning in a way. Before that he used to be somewhat of a misanthrope. Lucky for Travis, he was finally able to find his ability to let people into his life.
- Type of guy to work out whenever he’s pissed off. Probably has tape his dad’s photo to a punching bag before.
- Has undiagnosed C-PTSD.
- Storytelling and make believe helped him cope with his situation. Telling stories and making that pretend radio show kept him sane in a world where it felt like everyone hated him.
- The reason he stopped talking to Elle during the beginning of highschool has a simple answer: Jealously. Looking at her was a reminder of everything he didn’t have: Loving parents, confidence, socially acceptable hobbies for people their age, etc. Plus…he figured she’d be better off with people not like him. He’d only just hold her back. Little did he know, she actually WANTED to be around him, and hearing that, Alex is like “what do you mean???” lol.
- Loves the summer. Everything good that’s ever happened to him was during that weather. Winter time on the other hand makes him severely depressed, one of the reasons being he was less likely to be able to leave his house.
- He’s kind of a dumbass but in this most put together way possible. So, more of a undercover dumbass.
- Had a trickster streak as a teen. It was just an act to try to get the attention he desperately needed, though. Even then it was mostly small mischievous things like stealing stuff his parents didn’t even need. Deep down, Alex does not have it in him to be an actual “rebel”.
- I think he’s queer. That label suits him the best.
- Very respectful of his elders. This honestly feels canon cause he refers to a lot of the other adults in the game by their occupation or using “sir”, “ma’am”, “Mr”, etc.
- To contrast this, he has a vulgar mouth, which doesn’t feel like just a headcanon either. It was the usual reason Sir Swears-a-lot got put in detention. He tries to control it but he curses so much it’s just casual conversation with him.
- I can see him having something bordering the line of a savior complex. He loves dreaming about being a hero, being needed, being a person worthy of love. Hell, he only wanted to be a soldier to get his father’s approval.
- His favorite food was whatever the Holloways were making for dinner, lmao.
- Tried to run away multiple times but knew he couldn’t leave Josh behind. He lived mostly for him and Elle. He wanted to be rich enough that one day he could take them both on trips and never be stuck in Shepherds Glen again.
- Despite how much self hate he has for himself, I think Alex knows deep down he would be able to thrive anywhere else. He has just the right amount of esteem where he can acknowledge that it’s the town and his parents that make him like this. He knows he has good traits despite everything. He’s hard working, ambitious, creative, and he’d be able to do better outside the environment he’s in.
- He has the sweetest laugh I think.
- Also has some crooked teeth! He gets them from his dad.
- Listens to grunge, alternative rock, and nu-metal music. He had a lot of posters of his favorites on his bedroom wall before his parents made him take them all down. He’d rock out to Linkin Park, 3 doors down, Papa roach, Crossfade, Seether, three days grace, and more. (I promise this isn’t me being bias 🤣🤣)
- He’s also pretty tall. Probably 6’1.
- Pretty smart too, but never applied himself in school. Instead he spent more of his time rebelling and doing petty crime with his friends.
- Because of his quiet demeanor as a teen, it made it much easier for him to not get caught. His friends would poke fun at his soft spokeness but it worked in his favorite most of the time.
- Grew up in a nun ran orphanage back in Boston. This was written in some manual but the creator I think confirmed it to not be canon. I still consider it is though because I think it’s fitting for Murphy.
- I always headcanoned that he’s autistic, Charlie too. They share a special interest for cars and nature.
- Had a job as a mechanic and would let Charlie watch him when he’d fix his own.
- Deeeeeep thinker. He could get lost in his own mind. Like Henry his heads always in the clouds, his are just more stormy.
- He’s just a great dad. Very attentive and observes before taking action. Charlie was a really sweet kid, incredibly kind and empathetic due to Murphy’s parenting. His compassion for others was one of Murphy’s favorite things about him among many others.
- Has a very VERY hard time expressing himself. His mind races for different ways to explain things and make his intentions and feelings clear but when he’s in a stressful situation it only worsens his tension and makes him stumble on his words.
- This is random but I think he’s a masochist. He’d never EVER admit it though.
- He has to like KORN, right? I mean, they made a song for his game. I wonder if Jonathan Davis remembers that. I have a hard time pining down what kind of music he’d like cause there’s so many I can imagine him being into. Rock, Alt metal, grunge, maybe a slower more mellow kind of rock. Yeah I know it’s not exactly the most versatile but whatever whatever whatever. I think some bands he’d like are Godsmack, Alice In Chains, and Deftones. Maybe three days grace too but I’m just pushing the limit here. Okay I’ll stop waffling on.
- Swears he has bad luck. He wouldn’t be surprised if he was cursed at birth or some shit.
- Journaling was something his wife Carol got him into. She met him right as he was getting out of his delinquent stage and he confided in her about his struggle to open up and express himself. Carol encouraged Murphy to try and write his feelings down, saying it would get him to understand his own thoughts first and practice expressing them on page.
- Used to talk to herself as a child. When nobody around wanted to support her, she’d be her own number 1 supporter. When nobody cared enough to comfort her, she’d repeat to herself that she was gonna be okay. And when nobody would listen to her and give her advice? She’d rationalize everything in her own head and reassure herself.
- I think she has naturally curly hair but flat iron straightens it from her teenage years to young adulthood.
- I see Anita as a lesbian. She had feelings for Maya but at the same time her jealousy of her confused her. Like, she likes Maya as a friend, but she also wants to be with her, but at the same time shes also sickeningly jealous whenever she’s around her? She wishes it all made more sense. It’s not like she has anybody to talk to about it.
- Anita has a black and white thinking of how things work. They either have to be one way or another and anything in between is just not possible to her. Like with positivity and negativity. She doesn’t believe any positivity can be “toxic” and anything that isn’t positive feedback is hate. This isn’t her fault, it’s a product of how she was raised and the constant bullying she was subjected to. Especially the negativity part. When you’re hated for so long, you start to take it hard and personal when you’re not up to someone’s standards.
- This ties back to her mixed emotions about Maya. In her own mind, she can’t be in love with someone AND jealous of them. Jealous means negative emotions and that means hate, so why would she be in love with her? Of course this contradicts her friendship, but that’s entirely different to Anita. Like, who would ever wanna be with someone they’re jealous of? Hah, cause that would never happen, right? 🫠
- She is way more talented than she gives herself credit for. Other than drawing, she can bake pretty well and sews seamlessly. Shes self taught and used to help Maya and Amelie with tears in their clothes and projects they were working on.
- Sleeps for very long periods of time. She could sleep forever if she was allowed to.
- Really likes sour foods. Candy, Soup, lemonade, Pickles, yum. Amelie once made her a basket filled with these items and it made Anita laugh harder than she ever had in her entire life.
- Speaking of that, she snorts when she laughs. It only makes her giggle harder!
- Probably has a Reddit account, I could see that.
- One of the best days of her life was when she, Amelie, and Maya all went out for her 16th birthday. They spent the whole 24 hours with her and it felt like everything was gonna be okay.
- She remembers her little brother in many ways. Paintings shes made of him which she finds herself the most critical on, the food she makes that she used to share with him, even when she’s doing homework she thinks of him. She used to help him with his all the time. There’s not a day that passes by where she doesn’t think about him.

- Nature calms her. She always goes outside when she’s frustrated and kicks sticks and rocks and leaves until she’s relaxed again. She also likes making faces in any pool of water she finds, it’s a habit!

- Hinako fantasizes about having superpowers. Any kind would do. It’d make her feel she had control of something for once. The ability to travel at the speeds she wanted or being the strongest person in the world was something that in hinakos mind could make you unstoppable.
- She used to wear barrettes as a kid but started to keep her hair in her face as a teenager. Hinako did this because she figured it’d stop her parents from perceiving her, but it’s only backfired as they instead judge her on it anytime she walks into the room. At this point if somebody tries to comment on it she doesn’t even acknowledge them.
- She has so many weird dreams. She’d always tell Shu the morning after and they’d try to understand together what it all meant. Her dreams range from her being chased by various things to her getting enveloped by the darkness to her even dreaming about being poisoned. It’s more rare the times when she actually has good ones.
- She’s very competitive but is also a good sport. There was a clear split in the middle of kids who mocked her for her desire to win and kids who admired her and would ask her for pointers.
- Hates her birthday. Reminds her she’s growing up, and the more she does that, the more people expect things of her. Things she never agreed to be.
- Her childhood nickname was bunny.
- Hinako tells herself jokes in her head to make herself laugh. What can she say, she thinks she’s great company!
- Loves animals, especially cats and dogs. Every time she finds a homeless one she tries to care for it the best she can, although she’s a little clumsy with the help she gives. She already has a hard time reading people’s needs, animals are no different. The trio tease her for this. They all joke about how she treats animals like they’re babies and humans like they’re flies. Hinako’s never amused because it’s just not funny, and it’s not true either.
- Ever since Hinako was young people liked to joke that she’s heartless, that she doesn’t have one loving bone in her body. All because she isn’t a certain way, she isn’t submissive and unconditionally nurturing. This, ironically, breaks her heart. She never saw that caricature in herself, and she tries to tell them all, but nobody wants to listen to her. They’ve already made up their minds about who she is. It made her bitter, helpless. It’s one of the things that made her stop smiling as much. The only “upside” is that it was able to make her stop caring about what other people think.
- She loves winter time when it’s not bothering her too much. She likes playing out in the snow and sliding around on ice like she’s a pro skater. Snowball fights are her favorite, it gets her competitive adrenaline up and she always bursts out laughing when her or her friends manage to hit each other.
- Her imagination is so vivid and vibrant. As a child she’d make so many long winded stories with her dolls and as a teen she’d make up new games they could play or invent new sports they could try. If she was allowed to, she could spend hours thinking of ideas. Hinako’s inspired by almost anything.
- When she laughs hard, she places her hand over her heart or claps her hands. She gets it from her mother. It’s not seen as ladylike but Hinako doesn’t care. If she’s happy, the world’s gonna know she is.
