Sombra crosses her arms loosely, clicking her tongue in an expression of mock sympathy as she makes her presence apparent. â Ay, pobrecita! Did your little game go away? So sorry. â She isnât, at all and her lips lift to form a satisfied grin. A good reaction, something she wanted and it was laid out right before her in a predictable manner.
â And who is going to kill me? You? â She leans back a bit, feigning as though sheâs looking around for something. â You know, itâs funny. Seems like youâre alone, huh? â
â Seems likeâŠyou could use a friend. So Iâd think twice before you take me on just yet, amiga. â
âYouâre so not sorry!â She retorted, scoffing at the smug look upon the older womanâs face. She glanced down at the 3DS then sighed a little under her breath as she set it aside; that was annoying but it wasnât like she couldnât win again.Â
âI totally could, donât underestimate me. And so what if Iâm alone? You donât intimidate me.â Crossing her arms over her chest, she cast her gaze toward Sombra and continued, âMaybe I could but that friend will not be you. What do you want anyway? Do you not have anything better to do?â
sunablaze:
   « âïž Â» : god, this world just didnât make any sense to him! âhow is this meant to be a place of fun and enjoyment when i am meant to work for something i want?! is this not basically a job!?â as he speaks, he waggles around the few tickets he managed to scrape up. he mainly just got angry at all the games because he had no clue how any of them worked. aah, gotta love princesâ from the 1890âČs. âcan i not just use my money!?â
âDonât you want that feeling of accomplishment?â She questioned, leaning against the counter and blowing a small bubble from her pink bubblegum as she watched him wave his tickets like that would convince her. âDonât you want to feel proud that youâve earned something?â
âSorry, arcade rules. Tickets only, read the sign.â She paused for a second and gave him a quick once-over. âHave you ever been to an arcade before?â

- [ â ] â Drifting down the hallway ( silent â no footsteps or swishing clothing )Â as shadows clung to the walls. Pity this place was so bright. Greater pity he was here in the first place.
He was in no rush.
The turn down his hall quickly appearing as another headache. Frown hidden as eyes locked onto the young brunet â standing much to close to his own room. Wonderful.
â  You say that as if I chose this. Perhaps you need a moment to wrap your mind around the whole sheep kidnapping thing. I heard that sometimes kids need to be given a few attempts when learning something new. â
The mild annoyance present upon his visage was replaced very quickly by offence and anger at his comments. âWho are you calling a kid?!â She snapped, huffing in retaliation. Why did everyone say that? Nineteen years old was not a kid.
âThe sheep kidnapping thing isnât nearly as bad as living next to you.â Sure, being kidnapped by sheep was a strange concept to grasp but at least this city seemed peaceful, or what she had seen of it so far. As far as she knew, the sheep didnât seem that bad. Her neighbour, however⊠that was going to cause some problems.
âDonât tell me the rest of you are here too.â Her day would be beyond saving if that was the case.
scalewrought:
his first evening out on the town, and he chose to spend it within the arcade. for how could he resist to indulge in such nostalgia? the sight brought him back to hanamura. a time in his youth, as a more carefree and optimistic boy, would the young shimada spend hours in the arcade hiding from his responsibilities. he remembered all too well that more than half the cabinets in there had his name scrawled along the high score placement. first place, of course. genji could not help but wonder if anyone has since then beaten his records.
though it is not like he will be finding out any time soon.Â
with a plastic cup full of tokens the cyborg aimlessly wandered, searching for a game to play. perhaps a survival game of some sort. or maybe more of a time-wasterâ pinball was a guilty pleasure of his. though indecisiveness would soon be interrupted by a clamoring sound.Â
a crowd of people had gathered around one particular cabinet. mortal kombat it read, a group of boys hooting and hollering as one defeated looking individual slumped aside. out of curiosity did the ninja crane his neck a bit to see above the crowd, eyes widening for a moment to see just who had been causing all the commotion.Â
all it took was a player one wins! screen and a determined young woman for everything in his mind to click.Â
small world, was it not?
ânot bad, but not the best either.â he was only teasing of course. pushing his way through the small gathering did the man settle beside her, setting his cup on the ground near his feet. genji grinned to himself while placing two tokens within the player two slot. fingers gripped the joystick with ease, his free hand resting on the buttons to the right of him.
âallow me to show you who reigns supreme, hana.â
@mekaist
Despite working on the arcade, nothing would ever deter her from spending much of her free time there. It had become her second home and very quickly she had become notorious for mercilessly crushing her opponents on every time of game the arcade had to offer, much like she did online.
Her challengers were anyone and everyone who accepted and destroying the boys at mortal kombat was nothing new. She enjoyed the game, she enjoyed taunting her opponent the entire time, telling them to ânerf thisâ when she finished them off and once again added yet another victory to her string of successes.
The small crowd gathering around them was also nothing new; her enthusiastic yet brutal attitude toward gaming had become a source of entertainment for the rest of the customers. âWhoâs next?â She would ask the crowd, a smug smirk upon her lips as sheâd glance over the crowd. âI donât think this guy was even trying!â
However all it took was for a familiar voice to address her, dark eyes settling upon last person she ever expected to see her. âGenji?!â Her face broke out into a happy, yet somewhat relieved smile however she couldnât help but scoff at his challenge.
âReally? Do you need reminding as to who was world champion for three years in a row?â She turned her attention back to the screen but not before that happy smile turned into a mischievous one. âWe shall see who âreigns supremeâ.â She hesitated for a moment before starting the game then added, âItâs so good to see you, though. Iâve been stuck here on my own for so long; do you know who they made me room next to? Iâll give you a hint: heâs angry, shadowy and says âdieâ all the time.â

âHey, you! Wait up, I think you dropped something-â sheâs breathless by the time sheâs caught up with the other, and needs a moment to take some deep breaths before speaking. âThis. I think itâs your wallet? Swear I didnât open it!âÂ
@mekaist
If it hadnât been for the stranger, she probably wouldnât have noticed until it was too late. âOMG, thank you!â The wallet was obviously hers, the bunny keychain was indication enough. She replaced the wallet back in her pocket (more securely this time) and continued, âYou gotta let me repay you somehow!â
@mekaist
Cloud didnât think he tended to connect well with teenagers. Though he got along well enough with Yuffie, he assumed it was because she was very aggressive in wanting to befriend him (also because he was pretty sure she was still after his materia to sell.) So why he found himself standing in front of the cityâs arcade, he wasnât sure.
Honestly, he probably looked pretty strange just standing in the door looking awkward. As a kid, and even after he moved to Midgar, he didnât frequent arcades. He could vaguely recall playing video games with Zack before shit went down butâŠ
The blond startled out of his thoughts when someone popped her head out of the building. ââŠ.SorryâŠ.Did you say somethinâ? Didnât think anyone was still around this lateâŠâ
Oh good, she finally had his attention. Seriously, who spaced out like that? Well, whatever, if he had nothing better to do she could always use a gaming partner.
âI said are you coming in or what? You look kinda creepy just standing there like that.â Hana huffed a little under her breath, giving the stranger a quick once over before crossing her arms over her chest. It wasnât like this place ever closed but it was getting late. However she had just finished her shift plus she hardly knew anyone here so what better way to make friends?Â
âI just got off work here,â She explained briefly. âI was gonna hang around for a while.â It was her personal goal to get a high score on literally every single game in here. âYou wanna play?â She asked, gesturing behind her at some of the arcade games.Â
@mekaist surprise bitch, bet you thought youâd seen the last of me
Ah, a familiar face. Good or bad, it doesnât matter, sheâll end up at least having some fun and really, what could anyone do to stop her here. Sombra makes sure to be as silent and invisible as possible as she approaches the other woman from a distance, playing some game sheâs sure.Â
Her fingers light up her screen as she types furiously, causing her signature skull to pop up right in front of D.va, crashing whatever she was doing. Sheâll let this do all the talking for now and wait for her reaction.
Gaming seemed to be her only escape from the weirdness of the city. The pink 3DS was one of the possessions that seemed to join her here (unlike a certain something) so she was grateful to be able to immerse herself in her game and forget about the world for at least a couple hours.
Well, she would⊠if the screen hadnât blacked out. The purple skull floating in front of her face was all too familiar; she had seen that many times before and if having Reaper as her neighbour wasnât bad enough, she had to be here too!
âYouâŠyou did not just make me lose!â Her voice rose an octave with every word as she jumped to her feet, glancing around for the one she knew was responsible for this. âYou are so dead!â
There was one thing Hana was hoping for when she moved into room 818 and it was that the occupant of room 817 wasnât as bad as Reaper in 819. She still couldnât believe this city was making her live next to that guy. What did she do to deserve this? She was a good person! Whatever, sheâd suck it up, she had no choice, really⊠at least for now so all she could do wasâhey, was that guy her other neighbour?
Hana picked up her pace, raising a hand in an enthusiastic wave. Oh thank god he looked normal. âYou must be my other neighbour!â She observed cheerfully. âIâm D.Va, Iâm in 818. Have you been here long?â
@bleuspaceranger
Sure, she may actually work in the arcade (there were worse jobs after all so this was fine) but that didnât mean she could actually play any of the games. It was torture, seeing everyone enjoy themselves when all she could do was watch.
So, when her break finally came around she hurried to the nearest shooter and picked up one of the plastic pistols and huffed when the game required another player. Glancing around quickly, she caught the attention of the first person she saw, regardless of what he was doing in the meantime.
âHey!â She called, beckoning him over with a frantic wave of her hand. âI need another player. You in?â

Oh great, as if her day wasnât bad enough already. First, she wound up in this weird place with no idea how she ended up here in the first place. Second, her mech was nowhere to be found and she didnât even know where to start looking and now⊠she apparently had to live next to him.
A familiar face was a familiar face, after all and even though the tiniest part of her felt somewhat relieved to see someone she recognised⊠sheâd much rather it be someone else.
âWhat are you doing here?â She demanded, arms crossing over her chest as she confronted her new neighbour. Can she move out now? This was not her idea of a good time.
@byspite
âOkay listen, I know this place sucks but you canât have the nerf gun without the required amount of arcade tickets.â How many times had she said that today? Working in the arcade was not all it was cracked up to be. Besides, it wasnât even a decent nerf gun.
âLooks like you got a lot of work to do. Better get to it. And no cheating! I hate cheaters, ughâŠâ
