eventually shiro just like, genuinely forgets keith is in the cart, and gets into the checkout line. there’s a lot of groceries and the store is pretty empty, so the cashier starts helping him unload everything onto the conveyor belt. they’re making small talk, and shiro is starting to think 😏 when, at that exact moment, they both unearth keith (not unlike an archaeological dig site).

the cashier pauses and shiro can literally feel his chances plummeting. but the other guy simply picks up his scanner, pretends to run it over keith’s still sleeping form, makes a beeping noise, and then says “that’ll be $0.38 please.”

Lance: Y’know… if Instructor Shirogane doesn’t show up in the first fifteen minutes, we can leave

Griffin: Are you freaking kidding me? This is a military institution; grow up 🙄
