My name is Ciara. I am a trans woman and a refugee living in a camp in Juba, South Sudan, alongside other trans women. Our lives here are extremely difficult. Because of our gender identity, we face constant discrimination, insecurity, and exclusion. Every day is a struggle but we are still here, holding on and trying to survive.

We do not have jobs, and the little assistance we sometimes receive is not enough to meet our most basic needs. Many days we lack adequate food, clean water, medication, and essential items we need as girls. Some of our sisters are currently in the hospital, yet they have nothing to eat and no one to support them.

We are reaching out with humility and hope. Any support you are able to give through our GoFundMe will help us access food, medical care, and basic necessities. Your kindness no matter the amount can make a real difference in our lives and remind us that we are not forgotten.
