You were so tired that you didn’t register why you were having cramps. You just nuzzled closer to Megumi with a whine. Even in his sleep he registered your whine and moved to hold you close. He knew that whenever you were hurting or sad. The only thing that would make you better was him holding you.

It was almost three in the morning when the pain became too much and you woke up completely. You sat up and panic seeped in. The bed underneath you felt wet. Getting up checking you were met with the sight of your blood on megumi’s sheets. Too close to him for your liking. You regretted ever coming over and getting closer to him throughout the night. This was the first time you’ve had your period while dating Megumi.

You felt like crying. Wanted to crawl into a hole and never come out. You knew waking Megumi up and just telling him was a better idea. You walked over to his side of the bed. Poking his shoulder.

“Megumi” you whimpered.

He could register the sadness in your voice and woke up almost immediately. He sat up slightly. His expression was calm. He looked at you. You were shaking and you looked scared.

“What is it? Are you ok?” He asked worried and moved to place his hands on your waist.

You wanted to cry. He was so sweet, he always was. And you went and bled all over his sheets. Your lips wobbled before you finally spoke.

“I got my period on your bed” you whispered. His eyes widened. He looked behind him to where you were pointing. There in your usual spot was a spot of blood. Any closer and it would’ve stained his shirt. He looks back at you. Removing his hands from your waist and getting up.

His expression was calm but to you at the moment it looked like he was annoyed. Your tears came before you could stop them. He turned around so fast when he heard your soft cries. He kneeled down in front of you and placed his hands on your hips.

“W..why are you crying?”, he asked with a bit of fear in his voice. He moved one hand to place it on your stomach. Rubbing soft circles. “Does it hurt?” He said softly.

You shook your head. It was hurting but that wasn’t why you were crying.

“I..I bled on your bed-hic- a..and now you’re mad!” You cried out. To say you were jumping to conclusions wouldn’t be a crazy statement. Megumi sighed before standing up and cradling your face.

“ ‘m not mad-“ he mumbled “I was just surprised..I didn’t know what to do” he kissed your lips. A soft peck. Moving one hand to wipe your tears and move some hair out of your face. He was being so gentle.

You wouldn’t stop crying. Leaving Megumi no choice but to gently walk you to the bathroom. Leaving you there as he walked off to go get you some clothes. He returned with some clean pair of boxers, and one of his shirts that were oversized on you. He froze when he remembered you didn’t have any pads or tampons.

“Um..I’m gonna go to your dorm room- you have some right?” He asked nervously. You nodded, still not looking at him.

He had been gone for less than ten minutes. He definitely ran to your dorm and back. When he came back he handed you what he had grabbed. A fresh pair of panties from your dorm, and some pads and tampons..also from your dorm. You locked yourself in the bathroom for almost an hour. Showering, cleaning your shorts, getting dressed in his clothes, and then sitting in guilt.

Megumi had gotten a lot done while you were in the bathroom. He had cleaned the bed and the sheets. The bed showcasing a new clean pair of bedsheets. In the middle of his bed was your favorite plushie. A little pig plush he had given you on a date. He knew it would make you feel better.

When you walked out. You were limping and clutching your stomach. When you saw him. You almost started crying again. He was at your side immediately.

“Why are you gonna cry?..stop that” he said as you whined about how embarrassed you were. Him shushing you and explaining that you shouldn’t be. He laid you and tucked you into his bed. Handing you the pig plush. To which you beamed and held close to your chest. He got in after you. Moving to hold you close. Cuddling into your side.

His hand was placed on your lower abdomen. Becoming your own personal heating pad. Soothing your cramps. You fell asleep right after. Megumi thankful. He held you close throughout the rest of the night. Thankful he could.

He was the best boyfriend ever.

megumi! who doesn’t even blink the first time your words trip up mid-sentence. doesn’t cut you off, doesn’t finish it for you, doesn’t rush you. just waits, patient, quiet.

megumi! who doesn’t understand why you always look embarrassed afterward, fidgeting with your sleeves like you’ve done something wrong. “what?” he asks, all deadpan. “you were talking. i was listening.”

megumi! who makes you want to melt and punch him at the same time because how is he so effortlessly kind and emotionally unavailable.

megumi! who doesn’t even comment on it every time you stumble on your words again, just hums quietly as if to say "go on, i’m still here". and somehow that helps more than any pep talk ever could.

megumi! who finally notices how tense you get before you speak and says, completely serious, “you don’t have to rush.” then adds, “i like listening to you.” like he didn’t just casually destroy your entire nervous system.

megumi! who sits there, expression calm as ever, while your heart’s doing somersaults.

megumi! who sees you hiding your face after a bad stutter and gently pulls your hands away from your cheeks. “don’t do that,” he mutters, eyes soft but voice steady. “you don’t need to.”

megumi! who starts subtly mirroring your pacing when you talk — slowing his tone, leaving space between words, like he’s syncing up with you without making a big deal out of it.

megumi! who shrugs off your “sorry” with a lazy, “for what?” every single time, until you finally stop apologizing.

megumi! who doesn’t realize how much he helps until Nobara points out how you talk more freely around him. he just blinks, pretending not to care, but he’s secretly proud.

megumi! who, when you thank him one night, just says, “you’re fine. you don’t need fixing.” and goes back to his book like he didn’t just emotionally save you.

megumi! who might not talk much himself, but somehow always makes you feel heard.
