New Life for Haiti Announces Date for 2013 Gala
Megan Pekich is an experienced information technology and marketing professional who most recently served as a senior manager of North America Field Marketing at VMware, Inc., in Palo Alto, California. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Megan Pekich supports New Life for Haiti through financial contributions and by sponsoring a child. New Life for Haiti, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of the underserved in Haiti, recently announced that its 2013 Gala will be held October 19, 2013, in Chicago. In its eighth year, the annual Gala is designed to raise funds to support the organization’s mission of helping the people of Haiti build a better life. The 2012 Gala raised approximately $56,000, which would support the building of a new school in one village plus two classrooms in another village. Established in 2006, New Life for Haiti is nonprofit organization comprised almost entirely of volunteers. Founded by missionaries Fran Leeman and Steve and Joline Moore, the organization focuses on building new schools; providing children with clothing, education, and quality medical care; uncovering solutions for clean water in remote villages; and assisting young people attain a higher education or build their own businesses.
