Sarah Kim, New York, bywayofbrooklyn The first time that I came across Sarah Kim's By Way of Brooklyn I realized two things: 1) I'd come across something really special, and 2) I was suffering from major boro envy. Each story — all centered around female innovators who call BK home — was unlike anything I'd ever read on Tumblr. The stories were compelling and the images, so honest and revealing. It was almost as if I was reading a cool indie magazine, but in a digestible way that I could interact with — essentially the best of both worlds. Fast forward to this summer, when I found out that Sarah was taking BWOB to print. I immediately reached out to her to find out what we can expect from the first issue.

As a Digital Media Analyst at NARS, her days are spent coming up with all of the amazingly beautiful content that lives on NARS' social media channels, while simultaneously tracking how it does. By night she runs the super informative/down-to-earth/entertaining fashion blog Farpitzs that is the best one stop shop for fashion advice served with a dash of humor. 

This social media queen has forged an amazing path in the industry, despite the fact that she didn't even intend on working in fashion. Read on for Sara's thoughts on honest blogging, work-life balance, and turning that internship into a full-time position.

Sari Azout, NYC, @sariazout As someone who is equally interested in both fashion and tech, I often find interesting new companies springing up on the daily. I have a huge soft spot in my heart for bold people who bloom a small idea into something meaningful that changes the way people consume things. When my friend Kaitlin put me on to +Bib and Tuck I was instantly drawn to the site's concept of shopping without spending. By bib-ing the items in your closet that you've grown out of, you get "bucks" to tuck amazing items from someone else's.  Think recycling, but chicer. I sat down with Sari Azout- one half of team Bib + Tuck to get the back story on the rising company, details on breaking into the fashion industry without connections and how getting your hands dirty is essential to becoming successful in the world of startups.
