As an English teacher, I must say that we teachers are struggling to teach students to write a single sentence without errors. We encourage them to write on their own and tell them that it's completely fine to make mistakes as long as the words belong to them. We take the effort to sit and check every notebook, every poem, every speech and every single line.

What's disappointing is that students, as young as fourth and fifth graders, know how to use AI very well. From daily assignments to creative writing, some students do end up submitting grandiose works. Works that are soulless but just colourful. Moreover, since a teacher knows the calibre of his/her students, it's very easy to realize that a particular student couldn't have written it.

And this realization hits hard.

My only solace is seeing some students coming up with blunders yet original threads of ideas.
