today marks nine months. nine months ago i was struggling. nine months ago i was hurting. nine months ago, i had no other way to help with my pain. so i would turn to sh… today i am nine months clean of sh. nine months ago was the last time i hurt myself. nine months ago is the last scar i have from it. at the time there was so much going on. at school and at home. so many people thought i was okay, when in reality i was hurting. today marks nine months of me being happier and safer and caring more for myself. it’s been nine months since i touched that object that hurt me. it’s been nine months since i ever thought of it. today is the first day that i think about my progress since then. i am so proud of myself for this. i have gone through so much this year. the loss of a a close friend of my moms, the trauma of girls causing my asthma attacks, me getting assaulted twice, me losing three best friends this year. and me losing the one person i thought i could trust, and only turned her back, and became friends with the mean girls. during that time, it was heavy in my mind to relapse, to turn to that one thing to get rid of the anger. that used to be the way i took out anger. was on myself. but when i met my best friend, things changed. i was happier, when i started sitting with her at lunch, i was so much happier. and what’s a better way to celebrate 9 months than this?
