I decided to watch Hazbin Hotel for the first time. I didn’t care about it before but the gigantic amount of hate it got made me want to check out if it’s that bad. But I ended up… liking it? Probably because I have this thing where I notice all the faults and yet still enjoy things.

But what made me a bit sad is how I’m watching this so overly attentive. As if I’m some professional critic. Hell, I even make notes. All so I can excuse myself for watching this.

Which sort of sucks. I wish I could just watch it like any other crappy show, laugh and roll my eyes. But I feel this pressure to prove that I’m not actually enjoying it. That if I point out as many bad things about it as possible, I’ll be forgiven for liking one or two aspect.

And don’t even get me started on the fact that I can’t draw any fanart. I can’t post about it online. I was at a con today and saw some lovely fan merch but I forcibly made myself not buy it because I’m just trying so hard not to like this show and these characters.

Sometimes just performative morality gets to me, you know?

Hello Austria and Prussia are cousins, what the hell??

And it was confirmed in 2022?! I was actively in the fandom at that time, HOW did this information not reach me is beyond me… I’ve only been aware of the Germania stuff but ignored it and treated them as unrelated. But, fuck, now this is a problem.

I don’t care that much about pruaus on its own (though definitely one of my favs from Western Europe), but I can’t let go of the frying pangle. I love them so much.
