Hi everyone, back again with another masterpost! I decided to do a guide to highlighting, I find highlighting extremely useful when I do my revision. It allows me to locate key pieces of information very fast, thus it is important to only highlight crucial details. Â
Please note that this is just a guideline, so change and alter it for your usage.
I just got Instagram, https://www.instagram.com/bristudiespsych/ follow me and I will follow you back!Â
If you have any requests for masterpost please send me a message!
Much love,
Bri xx
i was 14 and i was walking through a mall by myself at 12am after my shift at coldstone creamery lol and a bunch of men started whistling and meowing and getting really close to me and they kept asking me questions and i kept not answering until i didnât know what else to do so i said âiâm only 14â and almost in unison they said âwe donât careâ i was so fucking scared i didnât know what to do and they kept talking about how i looked and how my body looked and what they would do i was on the verge of tears i was all alone in a huge mall i knew i couldnât outrun them all i felt totally hopeless until a maintenance worker came up to all of us with a huge industrial broom in her hand, i thought she was going to yell at all of us for being in the mall after hours bc she probably thought we were all friends but instead she cursed all of them out in spanish, threatened to press a panic button on her belt and then proceeded to walk me to the basement garage and waited with me until my mom got there to pick me up she had a death grip on her cart the whole time and a face of steel she looked so strong and i just kept saying thank you and she kept saying not to thank her because she had to stop them.
that was the moment i realized women were the most important beings on this planet and we have to protect each other bc nobody else is going to, she didnât even know me, we couldnât even communicate that well because of the language barrier, she could have lost her job for waiting with me in the parking lot but she looked out for me when she didnât have to, she had nothing to gain from it, iâm 21 now and i tell everyone this story even though it happened 7 years ago, what she did that night helped me form and shape lot of my beliefs early on.Â
i was at a grocery store really late one night and some old guy kind of eyed me as i walked out of the store next to this other lady. She and I made eye contact and i knew she was scared too. we loaded up our groceries into our cars as fast as possible and I had way more bags than her so she got done faster than me. I panicked because i was sure she was going to leave so i just hurried faster, shaking a little, and then i noticed she sat in her car, watching me and making sure nobody came near. She waited not until all my groceries were loaded, or until my cart was put away, or until I got into my car. No, she didnât drive away until I drove away.Â
And that was the moment that I realized how much women need other women. That we canât win this war without each other and we have to be looking out for each other, every second.Â
my last year in new york city, i got off the subway around 9 or 10p.m. i only lived about 5 blocks from the f train, but i hadnât gotten more than two before a womanâs hand suddenly touched my arm.Â
âthat guy behind us is following you,â she said. âhe was watching you leave the train car and followed you up.â
i hadnât noticed him, or at least not noticed him following me. when we stopped outside a grocery store, he stopped half a block back and loitered. the woman linked her arm with mine and walked me several blocks out of her way to my front door and made sure i got inside safely.
another time, nocigar and i were walking home and at a stoplight a stranger grabbed my arm when i wouldnât respond to him and tried to physically drag me over to him. sheâwho is, by the way, not a very physically imposing girlâripped his hand off my arm and snarled, âdonât fucking touch her.â
protect your friends. protect strangers. there are good men in the world, but donât wait for them to do something if you can do it yourself.
I was at a club once and my friend left with her boyfriend so I finished my drink and was heading out to the parking lot when three girls came up to me and basically surrounded me.Â
âThose guys behind us were talking about following you. We can walk with you.âÂ
I have MMA training but have never in my life had been offered the protection and sanction of my own gender. This is so important.Â
GIRL CODE. FUCKINâ GIRL CODE. LEAVE NO GIRL BEHIND. EVER.
self care for when you hit rock bottom
i fucking hate self care posts made by neurotypicals so hereâs one from someone who Actually Gets It
-canât shower or take a bath? me either. dry shampoo can make your hair look and feel cleaner, and baby wipes or makeup wipes work great to get the top layer of grime off your skin.
-canât wash your sheets and make your bed? i feel you. push your blankets out of the way and shake the crumbs off your sheet. it will at least be a bit more comfortable.
-canât even change out of your dirty pajamas? been there. hit yourself with some febreeze and a lint roller. if you can, brush your hair. if you canât, hair ties and bobby pins are fantastic.
-canât make anything to eat? same. if you can, thereâs no shame in ordering food. in fact, itâs probably better you eat something rather than go hungry. if you canât, try and find something that comes pre-made or takes minimal effort to make. at the very least, drink some water.
canât respond to messages or reach out for help? yeah, i get that. set an alarm for a few hours from now and respond to any messages you need to once youâve given yourself time to prepare. if theyâre Important Messages that need Professional Responses, you can find fill-in-the-blank format rough drafts on google. as far as personal messages go, donât feel bad for sending a mass âIâm sorry, Iâm in a personal emergency right now. Iâll get back to you as soon as I can.â response to everyone.
-canât even sleep because itâs so bad? asmr videos always knock me out, personally, but i also watch a lot of bob ross. just try to find something quiet and soothing to use as background noise and take your mind off it, or at least give you a more peaceful environment to think about it.
-canât go for a walk/drive? try opening the blinds or curtains. youâre still exposing yourself to the outside world. baby steps. (i also play animal crossing or sims; it may be virtual but fuck it. i went on a walk.)
-canât go into work/school? let people know. let your coworkers or classmates know itâs an emergency and you canât make it. give yourself up to two days, but then you have to go back. ask to have your work emailed to you so you know what you missed.
-canât brush your teeth and wash your face? makeup or baby wipes and gum or mouthwash. donât let yourself physically rot bc youâre rotting emotionally.
-remember that youâve been here before. if you survived then you can survive now. thatâs what this is about- survival. you donât have to be living your Best Life. right now, itâs more than enough that youâre alive.
This is the only self car masterpost Iâve ever seen that is feasible for severe depressive episodes
Wwwwwoooowww needed this
Look. Someone that gets it. Rather than just someone whoâs never been there âgently reminding youâ to shower and eat and drink.
Need this, esp when you cant even take care of your own
my masterlist of 'how to lifeâ tips
Cleaning & Tidying
Make your bed in the morning. It takes seconds, and itâs worth it.
Reset to zero each morning.Â
Use the UFYH 20/10 system for clearing your shit.Â
Get a reed diffuser and stick it on your windowsill.Â
Have a âdrop-zoneâ box where you dump anything and everything. At the beginning/end of the day, clear it out and put that shit away.
Roll your clothes, donât fold them - or fold them vertically.
Automate your chores. Have a cleaning schedule and assign 15mins daily to do whatever cleaning tasks are set for that day. Set a timer and do it - once the timer is up, finish the task youâre on and leave it for the day.Â
Fold your clothes straight out of the tumble dryer (if you use one), whilst theyâre still warm. This minimises creases and eliminates the need for ironing.Â
Clean your footwear regularly and youâll feel like a champ.Â
Organisation & Productivity
Learn from Eisenhowerâs Importance/Urgency matrix.Â
Try out the two-minute rule and the Pomodoro technique.
Use. A. Planner. (Or Google Calendar, if thatâs more your thing.)
Try bullet journalling.
Keep a notebook/journal/commonplace book to dump your brain contents in on the regular.Â
Set morning alarms at two-minute intervals rather than five, and stick your alarm on the other side of the room. Itâs brutal, but it works.Â
Set three main goals each day, with one of them being your #1 priority. Donât overload your to-do list or youâll hit overload paralysis and procrastinate.Â
If youâre in a slump, however, donât be afraid to put things like âshowerâ on your to do list - that may be a big enough goal in itself, and thatâs okay.Â
Have a physical inbox - a tray, a folder, whatever. If you get a piece of paper, stick it in there and sort through it at the end of the week.
Consider utilising the GTD System, or a variation of it.
Try timeboxing.Â
Have a morning routine, and guard that quiet time ferociously.Â
Save interesting-looking shit to instapaper. Have a set time where you read through the stuff you saved to instapaper and save the shit that you like from instapaper to evernote (or bookmark it properly).Â
During your working hours, put on your footwear, even if youâre sat on your bed. (Why?)
Have a folder for all your important documents and letters, organised by topic (e.g. medical, bank, university, work, identification). At the front of this folder, have a sheet of paper with all the key information written on it, such as your GPâs details, your passport details, driving licence details, bank account number, insurance number(s), and so on.Â
Try using StayFocusd and RescueTime (or similar apps/extensions). (I promise, youâll find that youâre not as busy as you think you are.)
Schedule working time and down time alike, in the balance that works for you.Â
Money
Have. A. God. Damn. Budget.Â
Use a money tracker like toshl, mint, or splitwise. Enter all expenses asap! (You will forget, otherwise.)
Have a âmoney dateâ each week, where you sort through your finances from the past seven days and then add it to a spreadsheet. This will help you identify your spending patterns and whether your budget is actually working or not.Â
Pack your own frickinâ lunch like a grown-up and stop buying so many takeaway coffees. Keep snacks in your bag.Â
Go to your bank and take out ÂŁ100 in ÂŁ1 coins (or w/e your currency is). That shit will come in useful for all kinds of things and youâll never be short on change for the bus or the laundry.Â
Food & Cooking
Know how to cook the basics: a starch, a protein, a vegetable, and a sauce.
Simple, one-pot meals (âa grain, a green, and a beanâ) are a godsend.Â
Dried porcini mushrooms make a fantastic stock to cook with.Â
Batch cook and freeze. Make your own âmicrowave mealsâ.Â
Buy dried goods to save money - rice and beans are a pittance. (Remember to soak dried beans first, though!)Â
Consider Meatless Mondays; itâs healthier, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly.
Learn which fruits and vegetables are cheapest at your store, and build a standard weekly menu around those. (Also remember that frozen vegetables are cheap and healthy.)Â
Learn seasoning combinations. Different seasoning, even with the exact same ingredients, can make a dish seem completely new.Â
Donât buy shit for a one-off recipe, especially if you wonât use it all. If you really want to try out a recipe, see if a friend would be interested in making it with you, then pool for the expenses.Â
Make your own goddamned pasta sauce. Jamie Oliver has a decent recipe here, but the beauty of tomato sauce is that you can totally wing it and adapt the fuck out of it.Â
Misc
Have a stock email-writing format.Â
Want to start running, but find it boring? Try Zombies, Run!.Â
Keep a goddamn first aid kit and learn how to use it.Â
Know your OTC pain relief.Â
Update your CV regularly.Â
Keep a selection of stamps and standard envelopes for unexpected posting needs. (It happens more regularly than you would think!)Â
Some final words of advice:
Organisation is not a goal in itself, it is a tool. Donât get caught up in the illusion of productivity and get distracted from the actual task at hand.Â
Routines and habits will help you. Trust in them.
You have the potential to be an organised and productive person, just as much as anybody else. It just takes practice.Â
this is truly excellent đđť

Looking for new studyblrs!
Reblog if your a studyblr! Iâm looking for new and old blogs to follow! :)
Rembrandt Van Rijn
Cracking open a cold one with the boys
You have your own way to learn something but there are some tips to improve it! You need to try these ⼠1. Study Space The place that you choose to study is always important, no matter if you study in your house, in the library or school but you need to considerate this things: ⢠Light: Donât force your eye vision, you need to be able to read, write, see all with clarity. ⢠Ventilation: If is summer you need to have a fresh ventilation, if is winter you need to be warm⌠You will be more concentrated in the study that in your body temperature. ⢠Comfortable: Find a place that makes you feel secure, you know if you can study with or without sounds, music, people.
2. Study Plan Always prepare the things that youâll study, learn, write ⌠Like goals you need to achieve in that study sesion in that way you donât have to think if you forget something.
3. Study Technology Maybe itâs the most common tip in the world but it actually works, TURN OFF YOUR PHONE really! Or if you can study without distraction (That is not my case) You can use some apps for your study routine, it depends of what you want to learn, and remember:Â âThe Technology can help you if you know how to use itâ It can be a distraction or it can be your friend.
4. Study Time You learn in the Night? Afternoon? or Morning? You would have a study hour or you can make time to study, try to have a routine so that can help your body to be prepared and this will make you not to procrastinate also⌠Your brain doesnât need to stay five hours reading the same lecture, try to use: Pomodoro technique: 25 min of work / 5 min break / After four pomodoros 15 min longer break
Sharing this. Have to remind myself of Pomodoro technique
Get your head in the game and eliminate stress. A noisy and fretting mind will not have any space for learning. Here are some remedies for that.
1. Schedule before anything else. Two simple things to keep in mind: Overestimate and be flexible. Put in extra hours for hard topics, and keep rescheduling throughout the day as much as needed. This is an instant band aid for anxiety.
Pro Tip: Using a digital planner allows quick and easy rescheduling.
2. Equip a Growth Mindset Your intelligence, skills and âtalentsâ are not fixed attributes. All of those are malleable. If you want to get better at anything, train on it. Commit to progress and growth not perfectionism. There is no such thing as naturally smart, there are only people who put in the time and effort to learn and master things, and anyone can do that. If people get good grades, it does not mean that they are intellectually superior, it means that they put in the work for it.
Pro Tip: Pressuring yourself to study faster by putting in time limits for each page or material is counterproductive. Youâll end up super anxious and disappointed. Screw time pressure and learn at your own comfortable pace.
Real Talk: If you feel like the work load is too hard, the anxiety is piling, everything feels impossible, and you just wanna sit there to cry and accept defeat- Grow up! Everyone is going through something hard. The difference between people who succeed and those who donât is that those who succeed arenât pussies. Stop crying, get up, take responsibility for your life and get to work! If you fail itâs not because of lack of time, or a mental illness, itâs because you didnât work hard.
3. Have Good Study Ethics Personal issues donât mix with studies. Keep it professional and commit to focusing your thoughts on studying when itâs study time.Â
Have a winning attitude: Iâm not gonna stop until Iâm done!
4. Prep Yourself Start early. Get up between 5 AM - 9 AM. You only get this day and moment once. Make it count. If youâre exhausted, donât beat yourself up. Rest completely, and start early tomorrow. Always study way ahead, and break the material in several chunks if possible.Â
Pro Tip:Â You donât need more time, you need more effort. Get things done early, it reduces a lot of stress and gives you more free time for fun.
Gather all materials. Choose reference materials that you easily understand. Complicated text books are pointless if you canât comprehend it. Keep your pens and markers in one container near you. Keep a dictionary and Google nearby.
Pick a good study spot. Pick a room with windows that you can fling open so fresh air and natural light can get in, also with lots of free open space so you can pace around.
Get your Dopamine up. Itâs a shame not to use the bodyâs natural motivator after all. Pump it up by dancing, singing, or eating some sweets before studying.Throw yourself into studying with high energy.
Pro Tip: Donât start on the bed especially when youâre unmotivated and drowsy.Â
5. Shut up and Start Start studying when you plan to start studying. No excuses. Youâre never going to feel ready and refreshed to study especially in the beginning. Feeling naturally and infinitely motivated to study is a myth. Studying is more of momentum that you build up gradually, until you just canât stop.Â
It will always be rough when you begin.
Pro Tip: Count 1, 2, 3 then start
6. Use the Pomodoro Technique 25 minutes studying followed by a 5 minute break, 15-30 minute breaks every 4 Pomodoros. Obey the time rules. The break is there to help your mind retain more. Remember, the next Pomodoro will be better.
Pro Tip:Â Break time is for you to wind down. Close your eyes and rest, eat or meditate. Donât use gadgets or make calls. Itâs called rest time, not stay-alert-for-useless-activities time.
7. No Bull Shit StudyingÂ
Start where itâs easy for you. You donât have to start in the first page, nor do you have to study in a chronological order. Jump through topics. If youâre stuck move to another topic and work backwards.
Pro Tip:Â Sacrifice and prioritize. Donât accept invitations to any leisure activity if you know itâs study time soon.
Be a creative problem solver. Find a better, easier way to learn the material. Experiment and research ways to better understand the topic. Watch videos, use memory aids, explain the lesson in your own words or in a different language. Make funny, and exaggerate mnemonics.
Just Study. Study hard or study gently, whichever you can. Focus on progress. Forget how much more you need to learn and focus on learning.Â
Pro Tip:Â Studying time is for studying ONLY. Not studying and chatting or watching TV or playing games. Focus.
Pep Talk: Donât give up. Keep going. If you give up, then youâve sealed your failure. Passing or failing is a 50/50 chance, but if you keep studying, you increase your odds of passing.
Rewiring Failure:Â Failure is simply an opportunity to start over, more intelligently this time. True failure is sitting there, feeling bad about yourself, and not trying again at all.
Triage ruthlessly. Study whatâs necessary and skip unnecessary information. Donât memorize everything. Study hard and smart.
Repeat Repeat Repeat. If you forget something, donât punish yourself. Be kind to yourself and REINFORCE. Relearn it. Not being able to recall something is only a cue for you to put in more time. Repeat it until you get it. Go slow; Donât rush. Keep at it until you get it. Go as slow as you need.
Review everything again once you cover the entire topic. Focus on Waterloos.Youâre done when you can explain everything in your own words, and you can jump through any topic without getting a mental block. Â Â
Pro Tip: Sleepy? Get up and move around while you study or read it out loud. Youâre only sleepy in the beginning. It gets betterÂ
8. Push Yourself Studying is mostly grit beyond this point. Studying is 99% effort and hard work; 1% technique. In the end, itâs the persistent student that will learn the material most.
Relax. Donât Panic. Donât rush learning, go at a comfortable pace, and take as long as you need with each material. Be patient with yourself, and it will reward you with quick recall ability.
Pep Talk:Â You dictate your limitations, your body doesnât. If the mind doesnât want to give up, the body has no choice but to obey.
9. Create Relevant Study Guides
Flashcards are extremely useful for formulas, normal values, and terms that require rote memorization.
Summaries are generally useful for textbooks, and detailed information or notes. Use as few words as possible.
Practice Exams are extremely useful to assess mastery of the information.
10. Get Support Have someone who encourages you to keep going, gives you hope, and occasionally gives you shit if youâre screwing around. Some times all it takes is the right person to tell us to stop fucking around, or to tell us that they believe in us to keep us going.
Pro Tip: Donât sit around yapping about your worries forever. No one is going to fix your life for you. Get your shit together. Whether we succeed or not is completely our responsibility.
11. Pull an All Nighter However, this is only a last resort. Think about this: A well rested mind with nothing to recall is far worse than a drowsy mind that is full of information just waiting to be recalled.
Pro Tip:Â You are not gonna die from an all nighter. Just remember to nap every once in a while, and catch up on sleep ASAP.
âYou can never defeat a person that doesnât know how to give up.â Studying-Queen

There are total 12 pairs of cranial nerves that originate from our brain and brain stem. Each of them carries different functions related to different senses of body. Apart from sensory functions there are also some that work as motor nerves or mixed nerves. Here is a brief description of 12 cranial nerves.
 1.  Olfactory
This is a type of sensory nerve that contributes in the sense of smell in human being. These basically provide the specific cells that are termed as olfactory epithelium. It carries the information from nasal epithelium to the olfactory center in brain.
 2.  Optic nerve
This again is a type of sensory nerve that transforms information about vision to the brain. To be specific this supplies information to the retina in the form of ganglion cells.
  3.  Oculomoter nerve
This is a form of motor nerve that supplies to different centers along midbrain. Its functions include superiorly uplifting eyelid, superiorly rotating eyeball, construction of pupil on the exposure to light and operating several eye muscles.
 4.  Trochlear
This motor nerve also supplies to the midbrain and performs the function of handling the eye muscles and turning the eye.
 5.  Trigeminal
This is a type of largest cranial nerve in all and performs many sensory functions related to nose, eyes, tongue and teeth. It basically is further divided in three branches that are ophthalmic, maxillary and mandibular nerve. This is a type of mixed nerve that performs sensory and motor functions in brain.
 6.  Abducent
This is again a type of motor nerve that supplies to the pons and perform function of turning eye laterally.
 7.  Facial
This motor nerve is responsible for different types of facial expressions. This also performs some functions of sensory nerve by supplying information about touch on face and senses of tongue in mouth. It is basically present over brain stem.
 8.  Vestibulocochlear
This motor nerve is basically functional in providing information related to balance of head and sense of sound or hearing. It carries vestibular as well as cochlear information to the brain and is placed near inner ear.
 9.  Glossopharyngeal
This is a sensory nerve which carries sensory information from pharynx (initial portion of throat) and some portion of tongue and palate. The information sent is about temperature, pressure and other related facts.
It also covers some portion of taste buds and salivary glands. The nerve also carries some motor functions such as helping in swallowing food.
 10.      Vagus
This is also a type of mixed nerve that carries both motor and sensory functions. This basically deals with the area of pharynx, larynx, esophagus, trachea, bronchi, some portion of heart and palate. It works by constricting muscles of the above areas. In sensory part, it contributes in the tasting ability of the human being.
 11.      Spinal accessory nerve
As the name intimates this motor nerve supplies information about spinal cord, trapezius and other surrounding muscles. It also provides muscle movement of the shoulders and surrounding neck.
 12.      Hypoglossal nerve
This is a typical motor nerve that deals with the muscles of tongue.
These are the 12 cranial nerves that carry many important functions in body.

NEW STUDYBLR
Iâm Reese, from the PH. Iâm an incoming Med stud, so I thought I needed to have a studyblr badly and find great inspos. I hope to get on it more than several times a week, âcause I know Medicineâs gonna suck the life out of me. Iâm also new in Tumblr (yikess) so pls bear with me lol
Thereâs so much in store in studyblr;Â I think I had to try a few editing skills and create ideas. These blogs inspire me: @studyquill @studywithinspo @jiyeonstudies @kikkistudies @emmastudies @justpeechytea @studylustre @obsidian study @wilstudies
Schoolâs gonna be harsh, and itâs about to start next next week. School supplies are almost ready, itâs only me whoâs not.
School Supply Shopping Tips
Donât shop too early or late (donât shop the day or month before)
This is pretty self explanatory, but shopping  too early or late isnât really recommended in the long run (if you have the choose). You wonât have the best bet of finding great deals, and you will have less choice and selection either way. Either the stuff isnât all put out yet, or itâs all gone. In addition, I just find that itâs better to shop during the âmiddle seasonâ since you arenât stressing out early or due to procrastination, but are getting in that âschool moodâ
Shop at night
This is just my family and I, but shopping at night is more calming (for some reason). Also itâs less crowded (so you can look all you want and you donât have to fight someone else for stuff).
Follow your schoolâs recommended school supply list (and buy additional items that are not on the list if you feel that you will need and use them)
Again, this is pretty self explanatory, but Iâm pretty sure the teachers and staff at your school know what supplies that are required as they plan the classes? If you feel that something is missing from the list, go ahead and get it if you feel that itâs necessary! For example, when I was shopping for seventh grade, the list the school provided missed out on a lot of essentials (that were on the sixth grade one for some reason) like scissors and white out.
On the first day of school, teachers will usually give a list of recommended supplies for their specific class (in additional to the school list). If you donât have something go get it!
I would highly recommend following the teacherâs supply list as they plan the class and make up the requirements! You may need additional items for that specific class (that werenât covered in the school list) for projects or something, so I would strongly tell you to go ahead and get whatever you are missing! Also, you could use a list to get all of your needed supplies/essentials for that class together, or in other words, you can use the list to help you determine what you need to bring to that specific class.
If a list is not provided, get the essentials (based on your needs and judgement) or ask a trusted person for their advice
Iâve heard this from older family members, but in high school and college, you typically do not get some sort of list. In that case, get supplies that you think you will need or get what has worked for you in the past! You can also asked older friends or family for advice on what they needed or used in high school or college!
If you are on a budget or are in a strict spending situation, only get the essentials
School supply shopping is EXPENSIVE!!! Please! If you donât have the money, please donât stress to get all the pretty things, etc! It will not affect your success I promise! In this case, just get what is really important and if you save up maybe get that new pack of fancy pens? Please donât feel obliged to get all the colored pens and stuff!!! I know that we really want to get that new pack of pens, but sometimes we have to restrain ourselves from getting new pens ;(
