guys guys guys help i just made a connection between theopin and marvin/whizzer and i broke my own heart. funnily enough it was bc murph said smth in the penultimate adventuring party about how he thought theo and lapin were going to become reluctant friends but "it didn't quite have time to get that far". that reminded me of the line "we're just gonna skip that stage" from falsettos. and then it kinda clicked how similar they are ? (in my opinion at least). im a divorced-and-then-fell-back-in-love-kinda theopin truther so its especially similar if you look at it from that angle (marvin and whizzer breaking up before act 2 and then getting back together) i have so many thoughts about this that i cant put words to rn so i might come back to this post but had to throw this out into the universe bc i am sobbing about it.

like tbh skuttlespring isnt even my fav ggug ship (proud polybears truther!) i changed it to this on a whim almost exactly a year ago and ive just stuck with it bc most of my edits are watermarked with it now. idk. smth from acoc is pulling me rn but ive never had a non-fh user on my d20 accs so im.. scared (?) bc fh is my all time fav d20 campaign. feels like abandoning that part of me or smth or maybe im just way too attached to smth as silly as a username. who knows. gonna save it on a sideblog for now and just mull it over.

yes, even if you've had certain things spoiled for you. i went into this knowing 2 major plot events and yet i still was WRECKED when those things happened. and the things that will make you FEEL surrounding those events don't all happen at once. it's not always the big killing blow or the final words that will make you the most emotional. sometimes it's a small parallel several episodes later, or even a bit during an adventuring party. this season is beautifully heartbreaking. i know i'm so late to the party (i made the mistake of not watching for so long because i thought it wouldn't be interesting since i had been spoiled) but if you've been putting off this season, don't.

Not hate… HATE

Why did they make it have a main character? Why does nobody have any background or personality? Why is it so FUCKING BAD?

It took out all of the heart and goodness of fantasy high and made it ‘palatable’ and ‘easy for comprehension’ but it just made it stale.

It seems like a thing just made for exposure and money, but in a mass produced way.

I am all for letting people have their own art styles and that, but this has none of the heart behind it that fantasy high has. It just seems like they needed to draw as quick as possible and took out any artistic drawing inspiration and all that. Like have some of the soul that fantasy high had, or at least attempt to put life behind those characters eyes. It seems like a classic webtoon comic but worse because it’s ADAPTING something (badly and inaccurately at that)

It just seems like everything dropout is against in art, and they directly made it.

gonna be honest

i dislike the fantasy high webtoon exclusively for the fact it has a main character

everyone who defends this choice, fully misses the point that the original medium, has no single main character. by making riz the main character, it changes what the story is.

i don't care if riz is the only one interested in the main plot of the missing girls, he's the only one that plot was made for, that's not a choice he made. i'd argue adaine put more work into being interested in the main plot than anyone else.
