nothing hits like that first ally beardsley season finale nat 20. that prompocalypse moment. way before anyone knew about ally's dice magic, just a casual "can i roll for a nat 20 and then be alive" and of course brennan says sure because what are the odds of that happening, and the look on everyone's face, the look on brennan's face, when they actually get the nat 20..........like every beardsley finale nat 20 rules but truly nothing will ever come close to the high of that very first one

ive said this many times before and here i am saying it again but. sandra lynn and gilear i think was the healthiest couple on the entire show despite the fact that they divorced because of a cheating scandal. because like. she is so so flawed and problematic and troubled and broken and he is so so insecure and unlucky and sad and depressed and they did love each other. so much. sandra lynn "commitment issues" faeth found someone she was willing and happy to settle down with for over 15 years. gilear "my existence was a joke the universe made" faeth was so secure in their relationship that when he felt betrayed (ie cheating) he had the confidence to leave. did you guys hear that gilear had confidence because leaving a relationship requires that!! what the fuck. when sandra lynn is at her lowest, in a one year relationship with another man, she goes to gilear. when his daughter (a product of his wife cheating on him) is mad at her mom gilear goes hey cut her some slack. she's having it rough and there's more to her than you know. she took him to rock concerts. he moved countries for her sake. the saddest man in the world felt good enough to leave

to me, fantasy high will always be the best d20 show because of how it's designed. at its core, it's just six friends in a friend group. there's no other relationships, there's no age differences or power dynamics, it's just a six kids who are trying their best to save the world. the bad kids are the characters that reflect the intrepid heroes the most, and it allows them to just be friends, and it creates an energy that really sets fh apart from any of the other series. it's so fun, it's perfectly chaotic, and there aren't any walls with their characters to prevent them from having the best time they can, and it shows. Brennan as a DM works so well with this group and that shows (not that Brennan doesn't with the others, but there's a comfortable energy with specifically the bad kids and within the fantasy high world) AND! there are no limitations in the setting. fh is literally a direct representation of d&d, a game they've fallen in love with over years and years. I literally love fantasy high so much its not funny, and no other d&d show will ever top it for me
