Join us in congratulating Solange Uwimbabazi, MC-Rwanda Country Director, who recently graduated from Oklahoma Christian University in Rwanda with a Masters in Business Administration! Solange is a recipient of MCW's Dr. George Sideris Memorial Scholarship and pictured with Rwanda's Minister of Education. Solange started her journey with MCW back in 2008, where she served as an MC-Rwanda Board Member while playing a critical role in the development of MCR's Community Center in Kayenzi. Currently, Solange oversees the programs and operations of MCR as Country Director. We are so proud of Solange's accomplishment and wish her luck in her future endeavors. ------ The George Sideris Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor the memory of the late Dr. George Sideris, a biologist teaching at New York University and Long Island University, in New York, USA. During the MCW and MCX's team visit to the MC-Zambia Center in Chanyanya as part of the Community Leaders Seminar, MCW's Young Leaders Program Coordinator Nitya Ramanathan spent time with Dellah. Dellah is interning at the center as the youth program intern. Dellah coordinates all the youth programs at the center including youth meetings, activities and events. MC-Zambia Board Chair, Kabinga Pande, spent time with the youth at the Chanyanya Center today. As an MCZ Board Member, Kabinga volunteers his time and expertise in order to strengthen and grow the center's programs and social activities. Spending time with the young community members is so important as we strengthen the activities. MCx Team and Board members from Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zambia along with MCW Global staff from New York visited the MC-Zambia Center in #Chanyanya. Everyone had a chance to meet the youth and community beneficiaries while checking out the various programs offered at the center. Tomorrow, we will begin the 2016 Community Leaders Seminar where members from the various countries will get a chance to share ideas about how to move their programs forward while working on compliance and strategic objectives. Please welcome our newest team member, Kenneth Sibande, who just joined the team as MCW's Regional Finance and Administration Officer for Africa Programs.  This new position within the organization comes after lengthy discussions with MCW and MCx stakeholders, all of whom share the goal of improving systems to achieve deeper impact and ultimately change communities. Kenneth will be based in Dar es Salaam and will work closely with the Director of Africa Programs, Treasurers of MCx Boards, and Country Directors to ensure compliance and improve financial systems across our Africa programs.  With over 16 years experience of Finance, Admin and Auditing in NGO work, Kenneth's work has included being involved in complex planning and budgeting processes, identifying and rectifying internal control weaknesses, offering capacity financial trainings, providing clear guidance on donor policies and procedures, and grant reporting.  Welcome, Ken! #Welcome #MCWTeam #AfricaPrograms #Growth
